So Samara Joy probably won because of Jazz voters and Bonnie Raitt won with the support of the Americana voters but what about Lizzo and Harry Styles? Did they get all the pop votes? Lizzo lost pop solo to Adele so I’m confused by all of this 😂

The category max rule is probably what happened. Artists are only allowed to vote in a small amount of categories now, so that’s why we will start to see some inconsistencies.

I truly believe not a single GF winner got more than 15% of the vote. Vote splitting is a total mess with 10 nominees. We need a preferential ballot.

That’s a lie. All the academy members always have voted for the winners in the GF.

The committee only chose the nominees while everyone voted for the winners.

1. Taylor broke the pop balance in SOTY and the votes were dispersed among Harry, Adele, Lizzo, Beyonce, making the much more solid, single contender-oriented Americana bloc take the lead.

2. Thanks to the absence of Taylor in other categories, the Pop bloc took more strength and solidified in Harry instead of Adele as we thought.

3. Lizzo probably took the sympathy of the R&B block and that gave her more chance in ROTY, apart from the fact that About Damn Time was surely enjoyed by many of the voters.

4. Without a favorite in the Pop block, BNA votes were probably dispersed among Anitta, Omar Apollo and Maneskin. The Jazz block was stronger than Americana (Molly Tutle) this time. It may have gotten support from R&B and musical snobs.

Yeah, that’s what I don’t get. After Bonnie won I was almost sure Brandi would be winning AOTY

So basically Bonnie can beat Harry in SOTY but Brandi couldn’t do it in AOTY with Americana and Rock support?
