Any TLC fans around here? The teaser for their buzzed about VH1 biopic, CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, dropped yesterday and seems to have gotten a solid response from fans – which is good, given that many first bashed the casting choices once they were announced (mainly Lil’ Mama as Left Eye).
TLC Movie Teaser + CrazySexyCool + VH1
I think KeKe Palmer looks most like her character (Chilli) naturally. They did a good job on making Drew Sidora look like T-Boz, and they did a GREAT job making sure that Lil’ Mama embodied Left Eye; she even sounds like she got Lisa’s voice down as well.
Also, the group has reunited with L.A. Reid and signed a new record deal with Epic Records. They’re currently working on a new album, from which two songs have already been written: “Posh Life” (by Lady GaGa & Dallas Austin) and “Meant to Be” (Ne-Yo).July 26, 2013 at 6:08 pm #389789
This is all so exciting! A New TLC album! The Bio-pic looks excellent and I LOVE that TLC has signed a new recording deal with Epic Records. The return of TLC is something I have looked forward to for years.
I just hope TLC doesn’t think of having Lil Mama join them permantely, that would be a big, epic FAIL. TLC DOES NOT need a third member. Only T-Boz and Chili.July 27, 2013 at 6:19 am #389790
Yes, honey! I live for TLC. Looking forward to the movie and new music.
Those girls kind of resemble TLC.July 27, 2013 at 12:14 pm #389791
Here’s the demo version of “Posh Life” that Lady GaGa recorded; it’s one of the songs that will reportedly be featured on TLC’s new album. It was written by GaGa and TLC’s longtime production partner, Dallas Austin.
I love this song! I can definitely hear T-Boz’s vocals all over the verses, and I know Chilli will sound excellent leading the chorus. Can’t wait to hear the ladies’ final version of this!July 27, 2013 at 6:10 pm #389792
This is playing dress up in its living embodiment/possibly campy glory. Even though I think nothing of Mr. Mama, he looks to be the best part of that sure to be trainwreck.July 28, 2013 at 9:44 am #389793
The movie has all the makings of a disaster, but the trailer does not. It looks like it’s Flashdance, awful movie with no story or typical story with some great musical numbers. I didn’t know they would go on the recreate the videos, but the first glimpse of Creep at the top of the trailer got me interested in watching the movie.
And this is something that would only bother me, but it’s weird reading “Crazy Sexy Cool” in the “Fanmail” font…
And finally, Is it just me, or does Lil Mama look like Tori Spelling on the No Scrubs closeups?…July 29, 2013 at 7:02 pm #389794
Nice teaser trailer. The girls freakishly resemble the real group (especially Lil’ Mama).
Can’t wait for thisNovember 5, 2013 at 3:54 pm #389795
Did anybody see this? I thought it was OK. Good enough for a tv movie.
Nothing too special, but I did think everything looked as real as they could do it. The girls looked very much like the real ones, the story we already knew it thanks to those Behind the Music or E! Hollywood Stories or whatever. For some reason I remember their Behind the Music very much and several parts of the script just had to be taken word from word from those interviews. Left Eye burning the house, going to that rehab house, coming out, then looking at the rainbow and writing her rap for Waterfalls, it was very much like she told it in that interview. The same thing happened when the graphics appeared for her calculation of their money and why they were broke. The same exact story.
I was very impressed with the sets for the videos and the performances, I forgot that it was their Fanmail win that had J.Lo in the famous green dress at the Grammys and I thought they were going to cut to the real girls and no, they cut to the actresses hugging and kissing and it looked very, very real.
I’m a huge fan still and it was awful seeing those scenes of Left Eye before her death, it’s just so sad that it happened. I wish they would come back. Of course the next day I had the last three albums in the car and went through them all in two days. It was fun to watch.November 7, 2013 at 6:46 pm #389796
I think the only problem with this movie was having T-Boz and Chili as producers. A lot of stuff seemed glossed over or sanitized to portray them in a more flattering light. I would have liked to see a more honest, in-depth look at this. But overall, the movie was entertaining, was well done and exceptionally well produced. Casting was an A+++++++.November 9, 2013 at 2:05 pm #389797
I will finally get to see the TLC movie this weekend. I really like their new song, “Meant To Be.” Is there a music video for it?November 10, 2013 at 5:06 am #389798
Without even looking it up, I’m guessing the video is/will be the one at the end of the film with the two girls in the recording studio.November 13, 2013 at 12:33 pm #389799
Pebbles is keeping this movie alive. I honestly can’t stand her.November 13, 2013 at 1:26 pm #389800
I’m on the only one that thinks that TLC isn’t TLC without Left Eye. 🙁 I wish things where different.November 13, 2013 at 1:29 pm #389801
Finally seen the TLC movie. It was cute. Certain parts were clearly exaggerated. Those girls, especially Lil’ Mama, resembled the girls of TLC. I really liked when the girls recreated the videos for “Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg,” “Creep,” “Waterfalls” and “No Scrubs.”
Pebbles was on The Wendy Williams Show today. Girlfriend spilled the tea. The story was so juicy.November 14, 2013 at 7:23 am #389802
I LOVED the movie. Most of it was a true version of what T-Boz and
Chilli have been saying for many years. The ladies visually resembled
TLC well. I didn’t care for Drew Sidora as T-Boz acting wise. She made
T-Boz seem sooo serious to me other than that I thought they did well
ESPECIALLY Lil Mama.
Now Pebbles Wendy Williams interview was all
over the place. Yes we’ve heard rumors of this alleged affair with L.A.
Reid and chilli but neither have said mum about it all these years plus
I doubt at this point anyone even cares. That may be why Chilli was
fired from the group who knows. I need to see this alleged
“confidentiality agreement” Pebbles was referring to lol.IF that’s the
case TLC would’ve been sued many years ago because they’ve been running
their mouths about their situation since the late 90s. Pebbles daughter
need to sit down somewhere and be banned from all interviews.
Oh and I LOVE their new song too.
