Both are so good actually. But AYHTDWS got me in the right moment and it destroyed me.

Actually Welcome To New York is also one of my favorites. I always find some songs that are true gems in every Taylor album. Too bad that I totally did not connect with Folklore.

` cardigan #1 and folklore #1 has anyone debut both a song and an album at #1?

I don’t think no one has debuted both album and song at #1 at the same time. Singles released at the same time as the album usually peak at #2, like Juice WRLD’s Come & Go with Marshmello.

Is it okay if Out of the Woods is my least favorite track in 1989? Am I okay?

Out of the Woods is definitely bottom tier. The bridge is good but I don’t care for the rest.

    FYC:

    folklore: AOTY, BPVA
    cardigan: SOTY
    exile: BPDGP

    Don't Start Now: ROTY, BPSP

    Ungodly Hour: BPR&BA
    Do It: BR&BS
Wonder What She Thinks Of Me: BTR&BP

    Phoebe Bridgers: BNA
    Punisher: Alt. A
    Kyoto: BRS, BRP

a lot of people seem to like the song based on that grammy museum performance, which i love too. The original production by antonoff is just a bit over the top, for me.

Out of the woods is imo spectacular. It’s one hell of a ride. It slowly grows until it reaches the climax. The bridge and the last chorus are so explosive and euphoric. Go listen to it with your headphones on full volume and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

Also, “How You Get The Girl” is not a skip like most of people think. The only skip imo is “I Know Places”.

August is fine but I liked it better when it was called Getaway Car

Are August and Getaway Car.similar? I personally don’t see much of connection between them

    Fuck the Grammys

I’m not sure if this is controversial or not, but the 1989 bonus track “New Romantics” is one of the best songs of the album and also probably the greatest bonus track of all time.
