INLA didn’t got BPDGP because Gaga has won it a year prior.
Oh! That explains why Thank U Next missed BPVA one year after Sweetener won????
And because “Always Remember Us This Way” has gotten in BPSP and SOTY
It did not get BPSP and SOTY was decided by a panel.
Johnny Depp is a wifebeater.
January 19, 2022 at 1:58 pm #1204738892Your point does not work because we already have an example of a BSFVM winner that missed pop beating a song that did get nominated in pop. Pop and Visual Media are different fields. I would also like to once again point out that LMM with a Disney song has already gotten a win here. Beyoncé, meanwhile, is 0/3.
Lin-Manuel Miranda’s How Far I’ll Go from Moana was nominated for an Oscar. Spirit wasn’t. It solely relied on Beyoncé’s name.

Yeah. I’m not really familiar much of the nominations that time.

An encanto song is also getting nominated for an oscar but ok.
And not to mention:
Oscar nominations: January 12 2020
Grammy 1st round voting: Sept 25-Oct 10 2019
Grammy final round voting: Dec 19-Jan 3 2020Spirits oscar snub would have had zero impact on its chances
Johnny Depp is a wifebeater.

But the short-list was revealed way back in December.

You mean the short-list which it was on?

Oh shit yeah it was. It was Taylor who missed the short-list
January 19, 2022 at 5:36 pm #1204739258Be Alive will win BSFVM 100%
or not. “Bruno” is by far the bigger song.
January 19, 2022 at 5:49 pm #1204739282INLA didn’t got BPDGP because Gaga has won it a year prior. And because “Always Remember Us This Way” has gotten in BPSP and SOTY. So INLA winning would’ve been similar to “Always Remember Us This Way” being the song submitted on that category.
So either way any song from ASIB was going to win.
Brush up on your facts before you post lol. Google is right there.
January 20, 2022 at 6:13 am #1204739929If Kendrick Lamar’s new album is at least on the level of Damn I’m expecting him to finally take home the AOTY award. A black artist has got to win it SOMETIME this decade and I feel he’s the chosen one.
January 20, 2022 at 6:26 am #1204739953IDK, I feel like Kendrick’s time to win AOTY has passed lowkey. Like what’s gonna change this time?
If Outkast is any indication, for a rap album to win AOTY it needs to be very pop-appealing.
January 20, 2022 at 6:55 am #1204740000I think the album would have to be politically-minded, closer to To Pimp a Butterfly, but with a couple of accessible hits. I think the difference now is the wait between Damn and this album building anticipation, compared to the wait between TPAB and Damn, along with the desire to reward a rap album. Kendrick is accessible and well-known enough to get support outside of the genre.
IDK, I feel like Kendrick’s time to win AOTY has passed lowkey. Like what’s gonna change this time?

January 20, 2022 at 6:58 am #1204740006Adele’s “Easy On Me” is spending a 9th week at #1. It marks the longest running solo female #1 since “Hello” (10 weeks). She’s literally going to sweep the Grammys next year..once again lol
SOTY, BPSP and BPVA are already in the bag. With no major releases and massive radio approval it will remain for the tenth week.
January 20, 2022 at 7:07 am #1204740018I BELIEVE that if Kendrick couldn’t beat Daft Punk, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and Kacey Musgraves, he’s hardly going to be a strong competition against the biggest Grammy darling in history. We will see.

If not him then Beyoncé
