What if the Best Dance/Electronic Recording existed going back to the 1980s? Who else would have been nominated and who would have won?

I am certain that Robin S. for Show Me Love would have been nominated at the 1994 Grammys. A Deeper Love by Aretha would have been a better nominee in this category as opposed to R&B Female at the 1995 Grammys.

Crystal Waters would have been nominated for Gypsy Woman in 1992 and 100% Pure Love in 1995.

Ultra Nate deserved nominations for Free, Found A Cure, and other songs.

Kraftwerk might have won a Grammy in the 1980s, instead of having to wait until 2018.

Cathy Dennis would have probably been nominated for Just Another Dream or Touch Me All Night Long.

Cece Peniston – Finally would have probably won at the 1993 Grammys.

Madonna, of course would’ve had a bunch of nominations and wins…
83~ “Everybody” or “Physical Attraction/Burning Up”
    84~ “Lucky star”
    85~ “Into the Groove” (win)
88~ You Can Dance album or “Spotlight” track
    90~ “Vogue” (win)
    91~ “Rescue Me”
    93 “Deeper & Deeper”

Some other artists who likely would’ve got nominations~
Depeche Mode “Just Can’t Get Enough”, “StrangeLove”
New Order “Bizarre Love Triangle”, “Blue Monday”
Erasure “Oh L’amour”, “Chains of Love”, “A Little Respect”

DeBarge – Rhythm of the Night

The Jets – Rocket 2 U was nominated for Best R&B by Duo or Group with Vocals but I think the song if more pop/disco than R&B.

Whitney Houston – I Wanna Dance With Somebody

Gloria Estefan – Turn The Beat Around

Spice Girls should have nominated for “Who Do You Think You Are”.

Honey, if Best Dance Recording was around back in the day, Jody Watley would’ve been nominated for “Don’t You Want Me.”

What about Throb by Janet Jackson for the 1995 Grammy Awards?

Yeah, had the Dance/Electronic field existed, the New Wave genre would’ve gotten the respect it never did. It’s a crime that Depeche Mode has no Grammys

    For your Grammy consideration

Album of the Year: “But Here We Are” - Foo Fighters
SOTY & ROTY: “The Glass” - Foo Fighters
    Best New Artist: Fred again…
    Best Dance Electronic Album: Kx5
Best Dance Electronic Recording: “Strong” - Romy & Fred again…
