I came across a vinyl copy of Judy at Carnegie Hall and was obsessed with the record for like forever and a day – the first time I realized what an amazing performer Judy was and that voice! So, I picked it.

However, I would have voted for either Revolver (66) or The Beatles aka The White Album (68) were options. Sinatra in 1966 I get, but Glen Campbell over The Beatles in 1968. Ouch.

    Life is a thin thread.

    it will snap one day.

Sorry Beatles, you are one of the best things that ever happened to popular music but “Judy at Carnegie Hall” is a killer. I usually don’t think that live concerts or various artist albums competing is fair, unless the live albums are all new material. However Judy Garland here is at the peak of her performing skills and I just have to praise it!!!

That Being said… The Barbra Streisand Album is also a magnificent work, if it had not been for the Beatles writing and playing themselves I might rank Streisand 2nd.

PS. Kinda crazy about two comedy albums winning. Newhart is a genius. I have listened to all of my top 6, and then various tracks of the remaining (love free streaming).

    01. Judy at Carnegie Hall by Judy Garland
    02. Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles
    03. The Barbara Streisand Album by Barbra Streisand
    04. Blood, Sweat, & Tears by Blood, Sweat, & Tears
    05. Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz & João Gilberto
    06. The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart by Bob Newhart
    07. September of My Years by Frank Sinatra
    08. A Man and His Music by Frank Sinatra
    09. By the Time I Get to Phoenix by Glen Campbell
    10. The First Family by Vaughn Meader
