What’s Love Got To Do With It followed by Bette Davis Eyes. Too bad neither Tina nor Kim received the award

Wind Beneath My Wings was done by Gladys Knight and was called “Hero” and was included in the Lean On Me Movie Soundtrack, as well as the album called Visions released in 1983.

From these actual winners, it’s “Every Breath You Take.” However, if Peter Gabriel’s “Sledgehammer” had won in 1987, that’d easily get my vote, hands down.

I voted for What’s Love Got to Do with It although I wish the song Private Dancer was nominated instead. What a great comeback and grammy year for Tina Turner. Love her.

Hmmm… I hate it when they allow songs previously recorded to compete here. “Bette Davis Eyes”, “Always On My Mind” & “Wind Beneath My Wings” all had earlier versions out at least by 5 years or so. Those are the ones I know about. That being said “Bette Davis Eyes” & “Always On My Mind” would be second & third. Not the best decade for sure.

“Every Breath You Take” gets my vote. “9 to 5” just like at the Oscars was robbed in 1981!!!
