Dua is just starting tho? Ariana has been in the game since 2012 and has only like two decent albums.

Being better doesn’t win you a GF grammy. There are lot of factors involve. Ari has won a single Grammy in her 6 eras and billions of features while dua is coming to sweep. I hope ari wins but she won’t imo.

Btw, future nostalgia is better than ari’s entire discography imo.

Ariana never released an „album of the year“ Material, TUN was only nominated because of its success. She is not defining the sound of the year, there is no progressive thinking in her artistry and if she doesn’t have a bunch of big hits, she is relegated to pop categories.

Kendrick and Beyonce seem like AOTY contenders. Dua Lipa is my predicted winner for SOTY / ROTY and I could see her racking up a few wins in the category if she continues to grow as an artist. If Rihanna were to come back with a smash hit, she could snag SOTY / ROTY like Adele did with Hello. I have hope that Ariana or the Weeknd could pull a win off in the general field, but the Grammys seem to have a personal vendetta against them.

Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars will also probably win again.

If Gaga ever has an Oscar season again, she should launch her era right after it in february (even if she loses, she’d still have buzz). And make it Grammy baity non-dance music. Maybe then. But well her odds are definetly slinking.

It’s true. Ariana Grande has not released an album that’s worthy of AOTY. And I *like* just about every one of her albums. I think thank u, next ultimately deserved to win BPVA but that’s about it for “snubs.” She released her most acclaimed piece of art in the worst possible time because there were plenty more artists more deserving than her that year. positions tells me that she’s moving in the completely wrong direction acclaim wise as well. Decent album, however it has lukewarm reviews and will not be even getting general field nominations. But I suppose one day she could have her folklore moment and do a 180 to get the academy’s attention. But I’d say the most overdue for general field wins is Kendrick. But sadly it seems like we have a long way to go before hip hop albums/songs can win general field categories regularly.
