What do you think is the best album based on these records that performed well during that calendar year?

We got Tame Impala’s Lonerism, Fiona Apple’s The Idler Wheel, Kendrick’s ‘Good Kid’, Grime’s Visions, Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange and so on. But those are the albums we have to pick from?
Okay, out of this bunch I’d go with Drake with fun. or Rihanna close behind. Idk, it’s a pretty sh*tty list, especially considering what a good year in music that was. I guess I support a Born To Die inclusion as well. It’s still Lana’s most mainstream, widely popular album and for me her best. And wasn’t ‘Good Kid’ at least semi mainstream and decent selling? This list is poo.

I chose the albums that were the most popular during that year. Drake released Take Care in November 2011, but was on the charts throughout 2012. An album didn’t have to be released that year in order to be part of this list when it’s based off of the charts and popularity. I chose the more commercial albums than albums from Frank Ocean and Lana Del Rey. Xtina would’ve been 2013 on my list since it was released in November 2012. Red could’ve slotted in either 2012 or 2013. You can write on the post YOUR favorite album of 2012 that isn’t on this list. That is perfectly fine. I’m doing this in order for us all to take our minds off of the pandemic and the social issues of the world.

I based this list off of the Billboard 200 Year End Chart. Of course albums from 1D and Bieber will be on this list. This list isn’t based off of critical acclaim but success and popularity. I’m asking the users on this website, which album they prefer out of this list. As for Kendrick Lamar, it was releaed in October 2012 and it really peaked in 2013. Like I said, this list is based off of the Year End Chart.
