Best R&B Album
Best Song Written for Visual MediaDecember 9, 2021 at 8:08 am #1204639842I’m almost certain H.E.R’s winning her christian nom. Whenever big names get into the christian field, they win. See: Kanye West, Dolly Parton, Gloria Gaynor and Tori Kelly.

December 9, 2021 at 8:46 am #1204639933Also see Reba, Hilary Scott and PJ Morten. I’m also sure one of Harry Connick Jr or Carrie Underwood is winning Roots Gosepl Album as well.

He could even go 5/6, which is the best he could do bar those two songs tying in SOTY. R&B Song and Visual Media Song are locks, SOTY for “Leave the Door Open” is likely, and ROTY and Contemporary Christian Song are within the realm of possibility.
Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga have a good chance at making a full or near-sweep of their 5 nominations.
Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak could also make a full sweep of their 4 nominations.
Jon Batiste is a wild card as this year’s most nominated artist. He has stiff competition in many of his categories. Wins in top categories like AOTY and ROTY feel uncertain, while he is unlikely to win his jazz nominations against the recently deceased Grammy darling Chick Corea. But watch for him in his 2 R&B categories, 2 American roots categories (though Brandi Carlile is tough competition in performance), and Contemporary Classical Composition. He will almost certainly leave this year’s ceremony as a Grammy winner though, as Soul is a virtual lock for Visual Media Score.
These seem the most likely candidates to be top winners.

ReplyCopy URLDecember 9, 2021 at 11:54 am #1204640349- Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga – 5/5
- D’Mile – 4/6
- Chick Corea – 4/4
- H.E.R. – 3/8
- Olivia Rodrigo – 3/7
- Bruno Mars & Anderson .Paak – 3/4
- Technical staff involved with Love For Sale – 3/3 (Calbi & Fallone – 3/4)
surprisingly
- Jon Batiste – 2/11 (no wins in Americana nor R&B nor against the late Chick Corea)
- The LGBrand(i/y)T duo of Clark & Carlile, Natalie Hemby & Dan Auerbach and Chick Corea are fierce competition
Interestingly, while Doja & Bieber will both go home #0for8shit, I believe Jon Batiste will lose more categories than them (9).

Lil Baby is also a big name there and he’s nominated alongside Kirk Franklin, who is a darling in the gospel categories (and probably a major factor for Tori Kelly’s wins), so there’s that possibility

ReplyCopy URLDecember 9, 2021 at 4:34 pm #1204640928I think it will be Jon Batiste. Yeah, he has stiff competition, but he clearly has a ton of support and his late night appearances will help him a lot. I think he could be win anywhere from 4-6 Grammys on Grammy night.
ReplyCopy URLDecember 9, 2021 at 4:52 pm #1204640952I think Jon, Tony, and Gaga will win 5 each
