Harry has support and he could be a dark horse for Pop album. He had 6 submissions and he got 3 nominations including that unexpected Music Video nomination. He could have been easily blocked by the Blue Ribbon Panel in the the main 3 categories like Ed Sheeran, we don’t really know and we have seen in the past non-AOTY nominees like Kelly Clarkson winning this category.

Meh. Fine Line/his songs were never frontrunners for GF awards as I predicted. He is not winning this award, and no he isn’t Ed Sheeran. Ed’s win was very clear. No one in pop I believe even was nominated for AOTY.

Because there were no AOTY nominees in Pop Vocal that year 💀

Some Nights by fun. was an AOTY nominee that year actually.

November 26, 2020 at 3:47 pm #1203876043Not me flopping with my first Grammy related comment. Maybe this wasn’t a good idea chile.

but where did that end up?
If Taylor is winning Album of the year, she is taking Pop Vocal Album with her.
If Dua is winning Album of the year, she is taking Pop Vocal Album with her.

Billies album had a much closer resemblance to Pop than Taylor’s album. In addition, Billie got both a ROTY and SOTY nom to support it, so do does Dua. Taylor only has a SOTY non.

You are only basing you personal opinion of what pop is. Pop is not solely based on what’s popular on radio or what sounds bubblegum. Pop is a very broad genre. Nora Jones, Duffy, John Meyer, Adele have all won pop vocal album with albums that are in the same vein that is folklore. Singer songwriter, ballad dominant.

As someone pointed out, AOTY and BPVA are between Dua and Taylor. Grammy wins are always fairly predictable, no matter how wtf their noms are.
