I think she can go #1 this year. I doubt anybody will release anything new anyway. I think Adele and Rihanna are counting on starting when the next Decade starts. This year will be the year.November 3, 2019 at 8:32 am #1203163912
Yes, the song will go to #1 this year. The power of streaming took it to a #3 peak last year (when it was projected to only go to #6 or #7). Streaming and it’s subscribers have only increased significantly within the past year.
Streaming plus the promotion of the song’s 25th anniversary by the label (including single sales merchandise) will carry it to #1.
Side note: Adele, Justin Bieber, Drake and Rihanna all allegedly have music coming out soon… however, it feels like one of them should have dropped by now (“Thank U Next” was already released by this time last year).
SNL’s last show of 2019 still hasn’t revealed its host or musical guest though, so it could be any of those artists (with a scheduled surprise release) … or maybe even Mariah?November 3, 2019 at 9:04 am #1203164126
It finally hit #1 in Canada last year.November 3, 2019 at 9:40 am #1203164203
I hope it does 🙂November 6, 2019 at 7:49 pm #1203169256
I hope it does cause then Mimi would have 19 #1 hits and would be only one hit away from breaking the record currently held by the Beatles for most #1 hits on the billboard charts. I kind of hope I live to see the day when this happens, Mariah deserves this record. Especially this that horrible old town road song broke her other record for most weeks at #1 that she held for 25 years with “One Sweet Day.”November 6, 2019 at 8:45 pm #1203169293

this would be her 19th number 1 lolNovember 8, 2019 at 9:00 pm #1203171963
All I Want For Christmas Is You will go number 1 and it would be better than a lot of garbage that hit #1.November 8, 2019 at 11:11 pm #1203172032
She can definitely pull it off. If not this year, then within the next couple of years. All I Want for Christmas Is You rises and beats its peak almost every year since the change on formula.November 8, 2019 at 11:13 pm #1203172036
It also has the benefit of a good tracking week this year where Christmas Day falls on a Wednesday. So it’ll have all those big streaming days leading up to Xmas + Xmas Eve + Xmas Day + only 1 weaker day on the 26thNovember 22, 2019 at 5:38 am #1203196839
I’d love to see it happen!November 26, 2019 at 11:23 pm #1203205439
It would be great if she pulled it off for the 25th anniversary.
The big question will be if Lizzo drops a new video for “Good as Hell” soon. I that’s AIWFCIY’s main competition.December 11, 2019 at 10:04 am #1203231743
#3 this week. Will she take the top spot next week?!!! Ahhhh!!!!

Mariah just released the signed CD single with digital download for $5, plus she’s pushing her Amazon mini-doc. Good as Hell is a worthy number 1, but I don’t see it beating out Mariah this week, it was on the downward trend before the new video, while Mariah just leaped up the charts and will continue to. I would expect number 1 this week, but we should have predictions tonight!
