I’m not a super fan of rap, as everyone knows. But I think it’s time for the NFL, to invite someone from this genre. My issue is most rappers don’t put up a good show and their music is usually full of profanity. However, in the case of Kendrick Lamar, his rap is generally socially meaningful and he seems to be good at putting up a good show. I think he would be a great pick for 2019.
I think NFL should definitely entertain this idea.
ReplyMarch 22, 2018 at 8:33 pm #1202517921There are many Rap artists who could put on a good show. Hence why Missy Elliott stole the spotlight from Katy Perry during her own halftime performance :).
Kendrick would be an amazing choice. I’d also suggest Drake, JAY-Z, or Eminem.

It’ll be P!nk, Rihanna or U2 (bleh).March 23, 2018 at 12:56 pm #1202518302Bruno says he wants an all Hip Hop lineup next year.
It’s about time they go that route.

Given the current NFL management, I doubt that will happen.

It should, but I highly doubt it.March 23, 2018 at 2:03 pm #1202518326Lol they have a specific audience in mind for the halftime show… It’ll be P!nk, Rihanna or U2 (bleh).
pink isn’t a big enough draw, rihanna is a horrible performer. both would have to be paired with someone (pink with a rock group like greenday and rihanna with a rapper like drake). u2 did it already.
ReplyCopy URLMarch 23, 2018 at 2:05 pm #1202518327kendrick’s would be awesome but he doesn’t have a big enough catalog. if they’re gonna do a rapper, it would have to be eminem or jay-z as they have some monster hits. kendrick would have to be paired with someone. perhaps he could share with rihanna. she’s got the hits but can’t perform. kendrick can but lacks the hits.

Pink has been asked on multiple occasions. She did the national anthem this year too.
ReplyCopy URLMarch 23, 2018 at 2:25 pm #1202518331I feel like a female singer will be choosen for the next year.
Since the last show’s ratings is the worst of the last ten years, they’ll be looking for a mainstream artist like Rihanna.
I’d like to see NFL giving a chance to rap/hip hop. Their Inviting Jay Z last year shows they are willing to see rap acts as headliners. they might invite Kendrick. Of course, there are other choices like Drake or Eminem.
But, as I said, I think next year’s headliner will probably be a female singer. It looks like there is an order switching between female and male acts.
– beyonce
– bruno mars
– katy perry
– coldplay
– lady gaga
– justin timberlake-

March 24, 2018 at 9:23 am #1202518541Rihanna has been the only logical/default choice for years. She’s the only huge current artist left who hasn’t done it. If she releases an album before/after and has something to promote, she’ll do it.
The only “big” people left are Taylor Swift and Adele and we know it won’t happen because it’ll be horrible for both of them. They’re not the type of artist for this, neither is their music. Same with Drake and Kendrick. Most of Drake’s hit songs are kind of slow for a superbowl, and is Kendrick really that mainstream? For a superbowl audience? It might be the biggest audience of the year but I’m sure it’s very white and dull for to watch a Kendrick show.
This show clearly wants either full pop, or accessible rock (meaning U2).

pop? highest peak on pop radio from damn is love, @ #18.
pop listeners knew him more from being a feature for taylor, sia, and maroon 5.
ReplyCopy URLMarch 24, 2018 at 2:32 pm #1202518609I wish they’d get Britney to do it already. Rihanna is a great pick in theory but like others pointed out she isn’t a good live performer.
ReplyCopy URLMarch 24, 2018 at 5:22 pm #1202518638Drake isn’t a good performer either. He has hits but he can’t even keep up. It’s no wonder why they keep recycling the same people because they genuinely know what they’re doing. I would say Kanye if he wasn’t being a bird.
