“More Than A Woman” by Aaliyah losing Best Female R&B Vocal Performance to Mary J. Blige’s “He Think I Don’t Know

Mary J. Blige “He Think I Don’t Know” – WINNER
Aaliyah – “More Than a Woman”
    Ashanti – “Foolish”
    Eartha – “I’m Still Standing”
Jill Scott – “He Loves Me (Lyzel in E Flat)”

I wasn’t wowed by these nominees like I was in previous years. Mary, Jill, and Aaliyah were nominated in the previous year and lost to Alicia Keys for Fallin’. I guess people voted for Mary to make up for losing for Family Affair and for her performance of No More Drama at the 2002 Grammys. Brandy should have been nominated for What About Us or Full Moon.

Honey, the Grammys fucked the 2003 Best Female R&B Vocal Performance nominees up.  The following were deserving:

Amerie, “Why Don’t We Fall in Love”
    Brandy, “Full Moon”
    Faith Evans, “I Love You”
Angie Stone, “Wish I Didn’t Miss You”
    Tweet, “Call Me”

The Legendary Aaliyah, “More Than a Woman” should’ve definitely won.

Many thought Mary J. Blige had been overlooked for many years.  Her win was a make-up award.

I forgot that Angie Stone’s Wish I Didn’t Miss You was released during this period. I like the dance remix of this song too. Yes, Angie should have been nominated and I would not have been mad if Angie Stone won the award.

I definitely would’ve given it to Aaliyah.

“No More Drama” should have been nominated and won, but apparently, it was submitted the year before. That was a dumb move since “Family Affair” was placed that year.

Keyshia Cole should’ve won Best Contemporary R&B Album over Neyo back in 2008

Aaliyah should’ve really won everything she submitted from the Red Album. Her losses from “Are You That Somebody” & “Try Again” are understandable.

    Contemporary R&B Album
Ne-Yo Because of You – WINNER
    Akon – Konvicted
Keyshia Cole – Just like You
    Fantasia – Fantasia
Emily King – East Side Story

I forgot that Akon was nominated in this category for that album

Aaliyah also should’ve won the award for Try Again. Sorry, Braxton stans.

I don’t think it’s one of the worst decisions for a nominee, but here’s a bit of hilarious Grammy trivia: “Because I Got High” was nominated for Best Rap Solo Performance.

Dance Recording Baha Men “Who Let the Dogs Out?” – WINNER Eiffel 65 – “Blue (Da Ba Dee)” Enrique Iglesias – “Be with You” Jennifer Lopez – “Let’s Get Loud” Moby – “Natural Blues”

I’d give it to Moby. His track was solid and the only one really worth repeated listens. Plus, the guy was one of the best producers of his era. Let’s Get Loud is a fun song but it’s not really worth repeated listens and the production is no different from other dance club songs of its era.  It is the biggest hit of the bunch so I wouldn’t have been surprised or mad had it won. The Enrique Iglesias song is is an average club song and the Baha Men and Eiffel 65 songs are easily two of the most annoying dance club songs I’ve ever heard. Screw them and the Grammys for giving it to the worst nominee and one of the worst songs of all time.

HER winning SOTY for her forgettable song and Eyelash winning ROTY over Post Malone’s Circles are two of the most recent horrible wins. But Malone’s song will reign as a classic.

And Adele deserved her wins over Lime Juice. Most Beyonce fans don’t even name Lime Juice as their favorite album of hers. It’s usually between 4 and B’Day.

Wow. That’s literally not a reason why she should have lost 25. lemonade is a better album. That’s it
