EMOTION – Carly Rae JepsenJanuary 31, 2022 at 6:23 am #1204761587I literally cannot choose 10 albums, it is so hard. So I chose 10 artists, then listed what I felt where there albums that most fit this category. There are only 10 artists, but maybe more albums.
- Lady Gaga – (Fame/Fame Monster. Born This Way, ARTPOP, Chromatica) – Joanne & ASIB are amazing, but they don’t really fit the pop staple category
- Rihanna – (Good Girl Gone Bad, LOUD, Anti) – all of RiRi’s albums have pop history staples, but these 3 have the most consistency as an album
- Dua Lipa – (Future Nostalgia) – she is still new compared to the others but Future Nostalgia was amazing
- Ariana Grande – (Thank U Next, Sweetener, Positions) – Positions might be a controversial choice, but I really enjoyed it, and felt the songs fit well together, although the track list order could have been changed for cohesion
- Beyonce – (all 6 studio albums) – here me out, Beyonce, like many others on this list do not strictly make pop music. Like others on this list, I feel like Beyonce’s discography is very strong, but in this case I couldn’t pick out an album of her’s that wasn’t fit for this category. If I had to remove one I would say 4, just because of the lack of Pop influences compared to the other albums
- Madonna – (Like a Virgin, True Blue, Like a Prayer, Ray of Light, Music, Confessions on a Dance Floor)
- Janet Jackson – (Rhythm Nation 1814, Janet, Velvet Rope)
- Katy Perry – (Teenage Dream, Prism)
- Britney Spears – (Baby One More Time, Oops I Did It Again, Britney, In the Zone, Blackout, Circus, Femme Fatale)
- Christina Aguliera – (Christina Aguliera, Stripped, Back to Basics)
