Affleck but just as easily could choose Mortensen. Washington did not ring true whatsoever to me, instead I felt his performance was ham cut straight from the bone. If only James Earl Jones had gotten the chance earlier.

Honestly, I would’ve given this to Andrew Garfield.

I agree that Washington just had something about him that didn’t entirely click, while Gosling just gave a fine performance that didn’t wow or impress me in any way. It just felt “there” for me.
