Best Supporting Actress 2003June 23, 2014 at 5:46 pm #548422
I voted for Holly Hunter but…really…Maria Bello (The Cooler).June 23, 2014 at 6:52 pm #548423
I haven’t seen any of these, but don’t forget about Ellen DeGenres in Finding NemoJune 23, 2014 at 10:11 pm #548424
Aghdashloo. Definitely.June 23, 2014 at 10:11 pm #548425

Ellen was not nominated.June 23, 2014 at 11:01 pm #548426
I voted Zellweger! I wonder how far the aghdashloo campaign got though. She had negative ads against Zellweger run by dream works for her and then the campaign involving “vote for Iranian to oppose the axis of evil and Iranians aren’t evil so vote for aghdashloo for the Oscar”June 24, 2014 at 1:30 am #548427
My vote was for Zellweger as well. I really love the film and her performance. It was Renee as we’ve never seen her and the performance was worthy IMO. Though I do agree that Maria Bello was snubbed big time.June 24, 2014 at 1:39 am #548428
you all should see the supporting actress breakdown in the film experience, they had reviewed 2003 performances, and the winner in that is Hunter
but I choose ZellweggerJune 24, 2014 at 1:49 am #548429
Would have liked to see Maria Bello and Patricia Clarkson here (Clarkson for The Station Agent over PoA). Category confusion really snuffed out Hope Davis’ chances, but I wouldn’t have minded seeing her here and then winning.
Zelleweger is overall a fairly weak winner, though compared to the other nominees it’s not that awful of a victory, and Connelly and Hudson are the weakest of that decade by some margin. Still, Clarkson or Aghdashloo should have taken this.June 24, 2014 at 9:06 am #548430

I know she wasn’t. But you can vote for the best of the nominees up there, maybe down here in the comments you can talk about some of the performances that were snubbed.June 24, 2014 at 11:05 am #548431
I went with Shohreh AghdashlooJune 30, 2014 at 11:04 am #548432
I just watched Cold Mountain for the first time this week and I think Zellweger’s win was justifiable. I loved her performance. I also thought Marcia Gay Harden was great in Mystic River. I haven’t seen the other three though.June 30, 2014 at 11:46 am #548433
5. ZellweggerJuly 1, 2014 at 2:32 am #548434
Renee is an easy last. It’s not that the performance is bad asuch she’s just acting in a completely different film to everyone else.
