Grammy nominations were announced this past Wednesday, and there were many shocking snubs and surprises, especially in the R&B field.

Best Traditional R&B Performance is my favorite category, and while I’m happy Jazmine Sullivan received an unexpected nod and disappointed Fantasia’s “Enough” wasn’t nominated, India.Arie’s “Steady Love” is my #1 choice, with Lucky Daye’s “Real Games” as the only other viable choice.

Who am I? You'll find out soon. Ciao, for now!

It’ll boil down to the Lizzo hype and last year’s winner PJ Morton.

I’m predicting PJ Morton, but I would not be surprised at a Lizzo win if the Grammys really want to go out for her.

Lizzo doesn’t deserve to win here. Jerome is not only an album cut, it underperformed on the charts. Lizzo winning here would be a slap in the face to the more deserving nominees (IMO, they are India and Lucky).

Knowing PJ and Jazmine collaborated on “Built for Love” I expected fireworks, to be blown away. But it was underwhelming, especially Jazmine, which was shocking.

Did Lizzo’s AMA performance of “Jerome” seal the deal for this category? “Built for Love” sounds more like a winner and “Steady Love” is the only real hit here, but it’s hard to bet against Lizzo.

I’m hoping the Academy forgoes the popular choice by honoring the deserving winner aka India Arie.

Honey, I was torn between India.Arie and Lizzo.  I enjoy both of their songs.
