    1. Natalie Portman
    2. Anne Hathaway
    3. Natalie Dormer
    4. Keira Knightley (might switch with Dormer)
    5. Lupita N’yongo
    6. Scarlett Johansson
    7. Mila Kunis

I’ve only seen one movie with Carey Mulligan in it, so I’ll leave her off the list for now

Carey Mulligan, Keira Knightley, Scarlett Johansson should not be on the list, they are all 33 years old.

They all turn 35 this year, so their inclusion makes sense. They’d be grouped with the other women anyways.

    My rankings:
    1. Natalie Portman
    2. Anne Hathaway
    3. Carey Mulligan
    4. Keira Knightley
    5. Scarlett Johansson
    6. Lupita Nyong’o
    7. Natalie Dormer
    8. Mila Kunis

I see where you are coming from, but in what universe is Natalie Portman a superior actress than Anne Hathaway, that’s like stating like Justin Bieber is a greater singer than Bruno Mars. Natalie arguably carries the same act throughout her filmography and tends to come across as a lot like herself, whereas Anne’s variations are far more drastic and evolutionary. If you scrutinize her character in Black Swan, essentially she is just a more despondent, somewhat disturbed and morbid version of herself,as was her character in Closer, and Jane Foster has a similar essence and mannerisms to her character Emma in NSA or Padme’, others have also agreed on this topic but no hate,as it still took a good portion of her own talent to amount to where she is now. And Anne may possibly be dubbed as a method actress.

But they both can CERTAINLY convey a rather wide array of journeys and struggles and is capable of illustrating the experiences and circumstances which her characters might be enduring or relishing in.

Do you agree that Natalie (and several others here) tends to seem more like herself and possibly throughout her filmography and at least bears trademarks and good connection, kind of like a contemporary Diane Keaton?
