Which of this year’s Emmy-winning performers (in a series regular category) that will be returning for another eligible season next year to you think is most at risk of not even being nominated next year?

I think the only locks to return as nominees next year are Parsons and Louis-Dreyfus. Burrell seems pretty safe, but Eric Stonestreet was dropped after winning his 2nd Emmy. Allison Janney’s win kind of reminds me of Jean Smart’s win for Samantha Who? in this category, so I wouldn’t be completely surprised to see her dropped next year. But then again, Emmy-winning stars of Chuck Lorre sitcoms have a tendency of being nominated year after year (see Jon Cryer and Jim Parsons). I wouldn’t be completely surprised if Margulies was dropped again next year considering she was snubbed last year.

Burrell seems like the kind of performer that could keep getting nominated even after Emmy voters grow tired of the show (similar to David Hyde Pierce). SAG doesn’t account for much in determining Emmy winners, but I think the fact that he was able to claim a victory there is enough to show that he has quite a lot of support in the industry, which could help in getting cited as an Emmy nominee via a popular vote.

Margulies is my pick. Parsons and Julia are probably locks to get in for the rest of their respective shows’ runs, and Janney has enough clout that I could see her repeat, especially in a category as up in the air as Supporting Actress. The Good Wife has never had too much support outside of the acting branch, so that’s in Julianna’s favor, but it’s never a certainty. As we saw in 2013, a great influx of new contenders could always risk pushing her out if voters aren’t passionate enough about voting for her.

I hope they nominate Ed O’Neill again next year, I can’t believe they snubbed him in favor of the over-rated Andre Braugher and Fred Armisen.

I agree that Ty will continue to get nominated while his co-stars get snubbed. And there’s a good reason for that – he’s the best thing about the show.

Actually, I doubt they’ll snub any of this year’s winners. But I wish they’d snub Parsons, which is wishful thinking, but whatever…

Janney is such an Emmy favorite. She has 6 wins in 14 years and I wouldn’t be surprised if she wins another Emmy for Mom next year.

Margulies. Burrell wouldn’t surprise me either. They’re the two in categories that are always full of way more than 6 likely contenders, and they’re the two who aren’t necessarily frontrunners to win.
