Holly vs Villainelle vs Saul vs Controversy? Who gets the dildo?
FYC Emmys 2019 : Bodyguard, Jodie Comer, Bob Odenkirk, Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Ted Danson, Anna Chlumsky, Tony Shalhoub
and CHERNOBYL, Hugh Grant, Michelle Williams, Ben Whishaw, Vera FarmigaAugust 1, 2019 at 11:53 am #1203005778
Did not consider “The Iron Throne”, “Nice and Neat” or “Winner” because those nominations are trash. “Holly” individually is okay, but no, so it comes down to Bodyguard and Succession, who should really be facing off for the Outstanding Drama Series win. I would vote Succession if it were the pilot or “Whose Side Are You On?” in contention instead, as I am in the minority about the finale. It came off as both a cheap reset to me and a soap opera twist that I feel should have been beneath the show. People seem to have forgotten that “Episode 2” was the best episode of Bodyguard (check the IMDb ratings) and it did also lean excessively into soapy tropes, but it is still the episode that I will nominate in my personal awards for writing because of its narrative ambition. But the pilot was fine on its own and I really appreciated how David’s arc paid off in the finale, which is largely due to how it was set up in the pilot, so I can support a win for it.August 1, 2019 at 11:54 am #1203005781
People are trashing “The Iron Throne” yet it’s leading. I just can’t.August 1, 2019 at 12:20 pm #1203005820
Obviously not the Iron Throne, or Bodyguard. The Handmaid’s Tale is out because it shouldn’t even be eligible, but it’s terrible anyways. Killing Eve is fine, but not worthy of a win. So it’s between Succession and Better Call Saul, both great episodes but Winner was such a huge turning point in the show’s story and the best episode of the best drama of the year. I’m curious what episode Riley saw, because it wasn’t the season finale of BCS.August 1, 2019 at 12:26 pm #1203005845
The I**n T****e is winning over Better Call Saul and Succession?August 1, 2019 at 12:29 pm #1203005859

Argh, you’re too perfect for these forumsAugust 1, 2019 at 6:54 pm #1203006419
Succession should be easily winning this. I’m glad that it has gotten a considerable amount of votes, especially in a place that is usually apathetic to it.August 2, 2019 at 2:30 am #1203006847
Wait, (since I can’t see the results) “The Sh*t Throne” is winning?
Emmy voters must bend the knee to Lena Headey & Emilia Clarke for "Game of Thrones." It's their last chance to award them. Make it happen.August 2, 2019 at 3:38 am #1203006874
Bodyguard was a fun ride but I accounted that more to the directing than writing which became too convoluted at times. I would rank “Wiedersehen” higher but went with the “Winner.August 2, 2019 at 12:30 pm #1203007407
Lol at people saying “Winner” is a shit pick.
