I believe Lady Gaga will win SAG For Lead Actress and here’s why.

    1. Ensemble Nod. She’s nominated for the cast of A Star Is Born which obviously doesn’t have a large cast and is the smallest cast nominated that evening; the film has major support as it’s the most nominated of the night with 4.

    2. Not nominated for Original Song. Obviously the Screen Actors Guild Awards don’t have an Original  Song category but this can definitely help Gaga. The past precursors have been giving Gaga a win for the song “Shallow” (Golden Globes; Critics Choice; etc) But here the only chance the voters can see Gaga on stage is if she wins Lead Actress and they won’t have the chance to give her song rather than Actress where as the HFPA may have felt they would rather reward her in the song category than actress. And I’m sure A Star Is Born won’t win Cast so this ultimately helps Gaga win a Lead Actress category.

    3. Most Famous/Known. It’s reasonable that Lady Gaga is the most famous star in this category due to her long music career. A Star is Born also made the most money compared to any other films nominated in the Lead Actress category. More Voters may have seen Lady Gaga in A Star Is Born rather than Glenn Close in The Wife or Melissa McCarthy in Can You Ever Forgive Me? (Independent Low-Budget Films). Lady Gaga has a stronger presence and some voters could be star struck and vote for someone who is so well known.

1)SAG doesn’t owe A Star Is Born anything. It doesn’t have to award it in any category. And by the way, Glenn Close has never won a SAG for a motion picture. This could be the SAG’s way of finally giving Glenn a SAG award for a film.

2)The screener for The Wife was sent multiple times.

3)There were buffering issues with A Star Is Born since it was available through streaming. The viewing experience may not have been pleasant for the voters and/or they may not have been able to watch the film in its entirety.

SAG does actually owe A Star Is Born something, the last 3 Star Is Born films were not eligible to be nominated at SAG because they were all before SAG became a guild and awards ceremony. They have never had the chance to reward and embrace the story. I’m sure most of these actors that go to screeners got to see A Star Is Born and ask the cast questions and some most likely paid to see a film as hyped up as A Star Is Born is in the theater. And Yes they owe Glenn a film SAG but she has won on the television side. I’m just showing FACTS that could definitely help Lady Gaga win while i’m sure not as many voters have seen The Wife especially the younger voters/actors.

this is just bordering delusional. SAG does not owe the franchise anything exactly because the guild didn’t even exist at the time of the previous 17 versions.

however I do want to point out that I think Emily Blunt is winning this, for sure. SAG does actually owe Mary Poppins Returns something, the last Mary Poppins was not eligible to be nominated at SAG because it was before SAG became a guild and awards ceremony.
