“Mad Men” has never lost the race for Best Drama Series, having prevailed for four years in a row. If it wins again, it will set a new record for most victories of any drama series in TV history. Which TV rival has the best shot at STOPPING the ‘Mad Men’ streak? And please explain WHY you think so.June 17, 2012 at 10:07 am #538699

I’d say it’s a race between Mad Men, Breaking Bad and Homeland. Personally, I’d rather Breaking Bad win this year. It was the best show on tv this year and it’s long overdue.June 17, 2012 at 10:50 am #538701
HomelandJune 17, 2012 at 10:51 am #538702
One word – Homeland.
Not that I think Mad Men shouldn’t win this year though.
I would still give it to Mad Men but Homeland is a close second.June 17, 2012 at 11:00 am #538703
“Homeland” or “Breaking Bad” but I still feel that “Mad Men” will repeat.June 17, 2012 at 12:32 pm #538704
Breaking Bad or Homeland. Breaking Bad probably has the best shot because the new season will be airing during the voting period. And the last three seasons have been deserving of at least one series win. Homeland seems to have the buzz and the episode of the year in many people’s minds. I don’t love it as much as others but I would be OK with Homeland dethroning Mad Men. I also think the perception and following for Breaking Bad has changed so drastically and in a good way since ’08 that this kind of has to be the year after missing out last year due to scheduling.June 17, 2012 at 12:42 pm #538705
Breaking Bad. Homeland is a wild card (and was snubbed by SAG) but we already know the Academy has embraced BB.June 17, 2012 at 12:51 pm #538706

Breaking Bad I think is being underestimated. We all know that Bryan Cranston is nearly unbeatable in the Acting race and I think this will translate into a Series win for them this year.June 17, 2012 at 4:25 pm #538708
There was no better drama than Breaking Bad this season, period. If Homeland wins, it will be because the terrorism factor will win more voters, and that wouldn’t be fair. So, Breaking Bad it is.June 17, 2012 at 4:29 pm #538709
Homeland would be a very deserving winner and Breaking Bad would be good too. I also can see Game of Thrones competing this year. But, now that I have caught up, Mad Men is the best drama of the season. It has maintained high quality in all 5 of it’s seasons, especially this one, and it should win.June 17, 2012 at 4:31 pm #538710
“Terrorism factor?” That would not be why Homeland would win. It would be because it is a very well-made show and is very compelling. More so that BB in my opinion.June 17, 2012 at 4:32 pm #538711
BTW, Tom, you should make one of these for who can beat The Daily Show. I think this may be the year.June 17, 2012 at 4:37 pm #538712
The terrorism factor is actually going against Homeland I think. Not better than Breaking Bad but still good shit for the most part.
