there has been a casting notice for promo filming (involving a choir of children for some reason) but judging by the queens’ schedules it’s most definitely for season 12May 21, 2020 at 5:30 pm #1203494307

That turned it! Here for ALL OF ITTTT, BITCHES!June 5, 2020 at 7:10 pm #1203518344
the amount of highs and lows this episode managed to hit, wow, just wow, I wasn’t too sure about this season based on everything I’ve read but I’m mostly on board now
praise be miss derrick berry, stirrer of shit, bringer of chaos, and the queen of all that is top-level cringe, I loved season 12’s best friends race with all of my heart but I’ve also missed the pettiness, long live the pig in a wig!
fascinating talent show this round, everyone either brought the most generic high energy lip sync or something never done before. india was easily the best of the generic ones, can’t say I saw it coming but I’ve always known her to be an amazing performer outside the show so I wasn’t shocked, especially since the panel always seems to ignore the more interesting numbers. mariah had my favorite number hands down, so unexpected and so timely, juju would also be in my top 3, she had more presence and energy just standing there singing a ballad than certain girls stunting all over the stage, shea’s pole dancing was quite impressive (especially since she only learned it right before the show), but I wish it had been to an instrumental piece instead of her own song
it’s weird to see ongina’s trajectory in one episode, she came in with the whole fandom’s expectations and delivered with the entrance look, but flatlined everything starting with the reading challenge (which juju rightfully won), her performance would’ve been fine in a bar but I know even her bar performances are ten times fiercer than that, I hope there’s a redemption arc for her in the future
yvie just reminded everyone why she’s a winner, india wiped the floor with everyone in the talent show with her lip sync but up against yvie she was just a background dancer, although it was weird that the only time we hear her speak was to announce the elimination
next week’s challenge seems right up shea’s alley, can’t wait to see how the early season queens would handle a challenge that didn’t become a stable until read u wrote u happenedJune 5, 2020 at 7:36 pm #1203518360
I’m wondering when the “trainwreck” actually happens during the season, b/c this was a fantastic premiere that gave me everything I needed. Opening with the reading challenge was excellent. Jujubee didn’t disappoint, but I can see why the tie happened. Blair has morphed into an entirely new queen, and I love seeing that happen for underrated gurls in their respective seasons. The glow-up is definitely real for her. I liked that we just jumped into things with little filler. I think the world was easily expecting Derrick Berry to go home first, so condragtulations meeting expectations lol. The whole drama with India Ferrah was crazy, but I was here for it! The sew room blow-up was excessive, yet fun. I’m glad India rudeemed herself and won this variety challenge win. I know next to nothing about her beyond the MimiImFurst lip-sync debacle, so I get to be introduced to her in the same way I was with Tatianna in AS2. Too bad the “twist” derailed her finishing the episode off strongly. Yvie Oddly swooped in and obliterated India in the lip-sync like it was nothing. I think Yvie was just there for a few hours having “fun” lol. It also rightfully shows that she’s one of fiercest bitches to ever win “Drag Race.” An unintended consequence of this “twist” will probably be that it strengthens the legacies of the assassins, and not the episode challenge winners. I’m keeping track of how many times this season the assassin wins for maximum drama so the group eliminates the bottom queen. I’m thinking that the assassins will win more than the All-Stars, and that in turn makes the cash pot grow bigger and bigger. For an episode like this where it was pretty clear that India would send Derrick home (we should get confirmation next week), it wouldn’t have meant as much if India won, perhaps. Tops of the main challenge were India, Jujubee, and surprisingly, Alexis Mateo. Bottoms were surely Mayhem, Derrick, and sadly, Ongina. Ricky Martin was a really fun guest judge! It would have been nice seeing him coach the queens for the variety show, but I guess All-Stars are above that kinda thing. Ready for the rest of the season! I’ve forgotten all about season 12 in the span of 7 days, just like I figured I would lmao.June 5, 2020 at 10:22 pm #1203518520
I’m sorry but that was one of the worst premieres of “Drag Race” I’ve ever seen. It was all just so underwhelming. And forgive me, but for the life of me I have no idea who India and Mariah are. I have watched every episode of “Drag Race” and have no memory of them… I’d literally say only half of them deserve All Star competition status: Shea Coulesz, Onjina, Alexis Mateo and JuJuBee (just give her the crown and be done with it).
Sorry for the negative post because I was so hoping to love this season as we need some fun TV right now. Hopefully it will improve next week. I did kinda enjoy the lipsync assassin twist at least.
