Big news today!
“Project Runway” is moving back to Bravo!
Continued fallout from Weinsteingate. Sigh. Read all about it here.
Hopefully the series will get some of its bite back that’s been sadly lost from the Lifetime move.

I wonder if this will include Project runway all stars and Project runway Jr

I’m excited about this. I definitely preferred the show as part of the Bravo family to its placement with Lifetime.September 7, 2018 at 9:02 am #1202625688
Heidi and Tim are out of the show. They’re moving on to a new fashion reality show on Amazon of all places.
I guess this new Bravo season never actually happened and it’s not gonna happen now. I suppose the main idea will be to bring in Alyssa Milano and whatever person they can find to fill Tim’s shoes and get rid of All Stars for now. I can imagine Kelly Osbourne calling people to make her the new mentor because she thinks she’s that person. Just don’t hire the awful lady who did All Stars last season.September 7, 2018 at 9:16 am #1202625692
Ugh. Not watching that ever.September 7, 2018 at 9:44 am #1202625707
I wonder if the whole show will just be dead now and they will make a new similar fashion show on Amazon with all the same people … i bet this has to do with harevy

I think that the main guess should be money. They changed networks and went back to the other (original?) producers too, I think. So maybe negotiations just fell apart.
It sucks. The show never really felt tired. And neither did Heidi or Tim. But 16 seasons is A LOT so…
At least we’ll get them back for something else. And it could end up being a very similar project like Andrew said. It’s still gonna be a competition show.September 7, 2018 at 11:03 am #1202625744
According to Deadline, Zac Posen has left the show too. (Obviously).
I suppose Nina is next.September 7, 2018 at 11:47 am #1202625783
Sounds like this is turning into The X Factor – first Simon Cowell announces that he his leaving, then a few weeks later, Fox, which normally does not announce show cancellations in press releases, sends out a press release saying that the show would not be back for another season.September 7, 2018 at 4:04 pm #1202625949
I think Bravo already said they’re moving forward with the show. I think it’s easy for them since they already (I asume) have another identical show with other people. So the idea to move those people “up” makes sense. At least as a first/initial idea.
And if we watched All Stars, we’ll watch this “new” PR too.September 9, 2018 at 8:49 am #1202627896
Something must have happened for all of them to leave at the same time …. I hope they all move to amazon and make the show with a new name there

“PROJECT RUNWAY” SETS KARLIE KLOSS, CHRISTIAN SIRIANO AS HOSTS
by: Daniel Holloway | Oct 10, 2018, 3:00 PM
Model Karlie Kloss and designer Christian Siriano will take over as host and mentor, respectively, of reality franchise “Project Runway.” Kloss will also serve as executive producer on the series, which is set to return to Bravo next year for a new season.
“As someone who grew up watching ‘Project Runway,’ I could not be more excited to host and produce a series that provides a platform to aspiring American designers as they pursue their creative and entrepreneurial dreams,” said Kloss. “I am equally as thrilled to work alongside an incredibly talented group of fashion innovators—Brandon Maxwell, Elaine Welteroth, Nina Garcia and Christian Siriano—to inspire, support and help guide these designers as they realize their visions and build everlasting brands and businesses.”
Elle editor-in-chief Nina Garcia will also return to the series as a judge, and will be joined by fashion designer Brandon Maxwell and journalist and former Teen Vogue editor-in-chief Elaine Welteroth as judges.
“‘Project Runway’ has offered such wonderful opportunities for so many and I’m excited to take on this role as a mentor,” said Siriano. “I hope to guide and inspire the new talent on the rise.”
“These are the perfect faces for the new ‘Project Runway,’ as we recalibrate for a new generation of fashion enthusiasts,” said Shari Levine, exec VP of current production, Bravo. “They are entrepreneurs and trailblazers with tremendous reach inside and outside the fashion industry, and give Bravo and our producing partners, Magical Elves and Lantern Entertainment, the right fuel to reenergize the franchise.”
The addition of Kloss and Siriano comes in the wake of longtime host Heidi Klum and mentor Tim Gunn’s departure from the franchise to develop a new fashion series for Amazon.
Bravo, the show’s original network home, made a surprise announcement in May that the series would return to the NBCUniversal-owned channel for its next season with longtime production company Magical Elves again on board.October 12, 2018 at 1:02 am #1202651198
Wow. Shocked that Nina is staying. But I can understand that Heidi and Tim want a new show, Zac could just keep being a famous designer, but what does Nina have? You can’t be worldwide famous and make lots of money just for being a magazine editor, that’s reserved for Anna Wintour. She doesn’t have anything else and well, she might “need” this. I can imagine they paid her a lot for this.
And Christian Siriano must have also landed a huge paycheck. That’s the best news for a mentor that any PR fan could’ve hoped for, I guess.
And having him and Nina still on definitely adds value to the show as it seems like at least there are two people from the PR family.October 12, 2018 at 5:58 am #1202651294
Im disappointed that Christian is a Mentor and not the host/Judge which i think would have been a better fit … I dont know why we need a female model to be the host all the time. I was also hoping to have Kelly Osburne or Isaac Mizrahi be a judge since now that they poached Christian and im Sure Georgina wont be back .

I’m always bugged by the subtle brand of slight shade that is “I grew up watching [show I’m now hosting/person I’m now competing against/etc.].” We get it, the show was on for a number of years and is now getting fresh blood.
I guess I’ll check it out once the show starts back up, but it is very very weird to imagine PR without Tim and Heidi. Isaac Mizrahi would have been a great get, though. I did enjoy that fashion show with him and Kelly Rowland (was it The Fashion Show?) from a few years back.
