Logo has released more information about season four of RuPaul’s Drag Race. You might have seen Logo’s first-ever Emmy campaign earlier this year touting RuPaul for hosting. Unfortunately, Emmy voters have signed a pledge from Grover Norquist to nominate the same six people and shows every year. The new season debuts Monday, January 30, from 9-10:30 PM, followed by the third-season premiere of RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked from 10:30-11 PM.Returning as judges for a fourth and second go-round, respectively, are Santino Rice and Michelle Visage.I can’t figure out to make a link, so here it is in html to their official page on the Logo website.http://www.logopressroom.com/press-release/“rupaul’s-drag-race”-fourth-season-premiere-sashays-onto-logo-monday-january-30th/Here are the contestants. Many don’t have the usual punny drag names. It will be interesting to see what kind of drag is celebrated this season. Bebe Zahara Benet and Tyra Sanchez, the first two winners, were full-on “real girl,” while last season’s Raja was high-fashion gender-f**k.* LaShauwn Beyond* Jiggly Caliente* Madame LaQueer* Chad Michaels* Kenya Michaels* Milan* Sharon Needles* Phi Phi O’Hara* The Princess* DiDa Ritz* Latrice Royale* Alisa Summers* WillamWillam had a memorable arc on “Nip/Tuck” as Cherry Peck (season three) and works fairly regularly as a female impersonator, including the indie film “Ticked-Off Trannies with Knives.” # # #

ReplyCopy URLFebruary 2, 2012 at 8:05 am #552157Solid ratings for the return of “RPDR” (in relative cable-universe terms).
From the press release: “Monday night’s 9PM Season Four premiere of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ on Logo burned ratings rubber, averaging a .6 in the P18-49 demo. This number represents a 50% increase over last season’s opener and clocks in as the highest-rated series premiere in Logo history. Additionally, the 90-minute, super-sized premiere tallied 481,000 total viewers tuning in to meet the new cast of 13 drag queen hopefuls who will fight it out to be crowned America’s Next Drag Superstar. The fourth season premiere of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ reached nearly one million viewers on its premiere night.
“Maintaining the ratings momentum, the season premiere of the companion series ‘Untucked: RuPaul’s Drag Race’ at 10:30 PM sped across the finish line with its most-watched premiere ever, averaging 254,000 total viewers.“

ReplyCopy URLFebruary 2, 2012 at 12:50 pm #552158The first episode was hilarious and parts, I think Sharon Needles is possible the best named queen they’ve ever had on this show.
The zombie girl (is that Sharon too?) was excellent, very good that she won.
I hope it’s as good as last year’s season, and since we don’t have an obvious winner from the start, it’s already better.
