I answered Atypical but for some reason I guess it didn’t post…weird. Anyways, last night was sad. Poor Sheldon.February 26, 2017 at 1:36 pm #1202022965
It’s perfect symmetry if Brooke ends up winning outright. She lost in her season to “Last Chance Kitchen” winner Kristen, and now she’s in that same position up against Shirley. Quickfire Queen vs. Elimination Queen! Might be the fiercest finale in “Top Chef” history, but I still call BS on labeling a season as Rookies vs. Alums that turned into a veterans steamroll to the end. This was a glorified “All-Stars” season. Part of me wishes it had been engineered so the finale was between a rookie and an alum. Silva would have been the perfect rookie choice. But anyways. Finale predictions? Brooke has the winner’s narrative, but I’m sticking with Shirley FTW. She’s a beast in the clutch, and I feel like she’ll rally in the final elimination. Felt horrible for Sheldon. Placing third twice must be wretched. It was sheer hubris not doing a test grill of his fish beforehand like the ladies did. He would have won over Brooke easily I think. The judges hate bland food, but overcooked/miscooked food seems to be the greater sin. All-female finale! Here we go!February 27, 2017 at 5:13 am #1202024940
I’m good with whoever wins but I’m thinking Shirley as well.March 2, 2017 at 2:32 pm #1202028132
Brooke and Shirley were my favorite chef’s from their respective seasons, and are the two I wanted to make it to the end this season. I’m really hoping Brooke pulls this off, but would be happy (just a little less, tho) with a Shirley victory.March 3, 2017 at 3:58 am #1202028500
I am happy for Brooke but I really thought that flan was going to be her downfallMarch 4, 2017 at 6:39 am #1202029144
Surprise win for Brooke! I feel like her narrative of losing in her season to the “Last Chance Kitchen” winner Kristen and then being the Kristen of her season sealed her victory more than her actual dishes. She wasn’t losing this twice. Feel bad for Shirley though. The judges couldn’t stop raving about her pork shank and tropical fruit dessert. Brooke’s flan misstep would have lost in practically any Elimination challenge ever for its overcooked density, and the judges are normally super picky on desserts. Her octopus dish must have been the best thing ever. I won’t know, b/c I’ll never put that slimy shit in my mouth. Great season. Charleston was a surprisingly strong host city. Mexico for the finale episodes were good. It’s time to take this show international outright for a a season or two, but that might interfere and compete with other countries’ versions of “Top Chef.” I’ve made my issues clear with billing this as a “veterans vs. alums” season when it ended up being a glorified All-Stars push in the end. I would have been all onboard with that, but proper promotion, folks. Onto Season 15, bitches!March 4, 2017 at 12:40 pm #1202029294
I was kind of nervous for Brooke, but when you spend the whole meal saying how bad Shirley’s first two dishes are, and this not being Top Chef: Just Desserts, you can pretty much guess that Brooke had this. I still had my doubts because Shirley’s dessert looked amazing and at least her third dish kind of rocked…apparently. I hate Top Chef because we never know anything except how food looks and we go by each contestants personalities too, so I was very much on both teams, I would’ve been ok with either one winning because they’ve been great throughout both of their seasons.
Loving Shirley so much since her season I was moved by her mother and that whole situation, but I’m more than ok with Brooke winning. I think I wanted her to win more than Shirley for some reason.March 4, 2017 at 4:14 pm #1202029377

Disagree. Brooke won Dish 1, 2, tied for 3 and lost 4 badly. That means Shirley won 4 and tied dish 3. I’m not good a math, but if this were judged like boxing rounds then Brooke wins hands-down.
Agree tho that it was basically All-Stars. I’d be all for them next doing one with the Top Check overall winners to see who is the ultimate champ – and do that in France.March 4, 2017 at 5:51 pm #1202029408
I still think Brooke won based on her overall narrative. Any other time on this show, a losing dessert loses the challenge. #TeamShirley.December 12, 2017 at 5:17 pm #1202438231
Did anyone else watch the premiere last thursday? Just my thoughts on the chefs:
They all seem really likeable…..but Christopher makes my skin crawl. So annoying.January 28, 2018 at 3:51 pm #1202015744
So what happened with Last Chance Kitchen?
It’s a bit spoiler-ish but I’ll tell you. In episode 10, it was Casey, Jamie and Sylva ( who went home). At this point Brooke walked in the week after and bye bye Jamie leaving two ladies. Brooke won the last one and was back in the competition.
When was Brooke eliminated? That doesn’t make sense. The “Last Chance Kitchen” winner returns when the final three is determined, which should have been this latest episode. Then that number is narrowed down to the finale to two to determine the winner. I guess I missed an episode or something. Wish they moved back to Wednesdays than too busy Thursdays.
Brooke was eliminated in the episode before the first part of the finale when it was the final four and became the last LCK contender. So basically, the final 4 was back when she won LCK. Inclined to think that if John was eliminated that week instead of Brooke that Casey would have won LCK
