well i had two weeks to catch up on … i think both the guys deserved to go home.

Didnt feel the love for the Spanish style dress from margarita ( it looked way to costumey for me )

I think the twins should be talked to about their dependence on each other , and i think its coming i dont think tim is aware of how they are acting and will call them on it… Cant wait for them to go home.

Aaron really took a bullet for the rest of the bottom three, didn’t he? That look was beyond bad. It was incomplete. I would have considered disqualifying him on those grounds, but that doesn’t make for good television. I’m sure his model was so embarrassed walking out with the straps not even secure enough to prevent a wardrobe malfunction. Good riddance! He was too young and not ready for this. Michael would have been my winner’s choice with a look that could show on any runway and be a Disney villainess at the same time. Brandon’s look was puzzling, but if the judges call that “fashion-forward,” so be it. Liris (the delusional “Naomi of plus-size” models) was doing way toooo much, like she designed the damn dress herself. Ebony’s look was pretty cool. Claire lives to see another day SMDH! I hate it when Heidi teases the double elimination and then doesn’t go through with it. Tim Gunn fully knows how dependent Claire is with Shawn and is doing nothing about it. TPTB will advocate it until it’s in the show’s best interests to separate them. Looks like some drama is happening next episode. This might be the one from the season previews that supposedly “changes everything”! Can’t wait!

There were some amazing things in this episode:

Aaron’s look, for starters, was amazingly terrible. It is unbelievable to me that in TWO DAYS he couldn’t have come up with something that was either decent or complete. I could see why Heidi started saying she wanted to eliminate more than one designers, as Aaron’s elimination was too much of a foregone conclusion to allow for any bottom three drama.

China Ann McClain and Dove Cameron were great guest judges. I loved their enthusiasm to be there and their excitement for some of the looks, and they had some good insights on the bad designs as well.

But maybe my favorite thing was how Shawn seemed disappointed at the end that Claire hadn’t been eliminated. The show has kind of gone back and forth with which of the twins is the more irritating one and which one has been leaning on the other more, but Claire was really extreme this week. She walked into the breakroom where Margarita was having a crisis of confidence with Shawn and just hijacked the conversation to whine about her boring dress. It looked like next week the roles might be flipped again, but by now I’m just convinced Shawn is the stronger designer and Claire wouldn’t have been accepted on the show on her own. I’m excited to see the drama that develops!

As for the top looks, Brandon’s was my favorite as well. It was weird, but also seemed cool and wearable. Michael’s whole look turned out great, but to me looked too spot on as “evil queen” to actually wear anywhere. I was glad to see Kenya bounce back, though I didn’t love the look overall. I’m not a fan of peplums. I think Char ruined them for me back in season 13. I think Anaya and Amy were both lucky that there were quite a few bad looks to keep them from being in the bottom. Anaya’s dress was two parts that didn’t go together at all, and neither of them was very nice. Amy’s look was like a nightgown wrapped up in a luxurious stage curtain.

So “The Naomi of Plus Size” really wants to take over this show. I can just see it. How many times did she answer “Thank you” to compliments that were 100% directed at Michael and HIS outfit? And of course she just had to come with the tiresome “FINALLY somebody made something for my figure”, she just had to get some lines in there too.

Aaron’s girl just keep getting fucked by these designers. I think she was Deyonte’s girl whe he won in week 1 and then I think it was downhill from there.

So Brandon wins? I can see him as a favorite, I really like him, but common, this was either a consecutive win for Michael or Kenya’s win. It made no sense to pick anybody else. Who the hell picks the good side in a challenge like this anyway? How boring. You always pick the bad side, specially when you have these two looks. Maybe “too Beyonce” and “just a pant suit” killed their chances, but still, those made much more sense than Brandon’s look which was on the verge of being ugly.

I thought Ayana would be on the bottom for designing something that you couldn’t tell if it was the model, or herself walking down the runway (like Brandon, who looked like he was wearing part of his previous designs).

I thought Claire would snap right there. Once again, it didn’t happen. And they were way too tough on Samantha. They just kept going and going.

    Nice episode.

Another good episode. I didn’t see anybody with a terrible outfit. This season these guys are really talented (specially if Shawn copies her oufit and Claire has a nice incomplete idea).

The Shawn situation is ridiculous. I thought Tim would say something about her merging two outfits from herself and the model instead of just commenting on the shorts. When is shit going to explode here????? At least it looked great.

I would’ve given the win to Kenya, and had I not seen what Shawn did I would’ve given it to her too before Kentaro.

Like Tim said, in this particular episode nobody did an awful job, so from the bottom, Samantha’s boring outfit deserved to go home. And it was the exact same situation as last week.

Margarita and her Margarita-looking model did awful too. She looked like Britney in her Sometimes video but tackier. The jacket was cool, so I guess that saves her against Samantha.

I thought Michael did a good job, good enough, I would’ve put him on top too. The Naomi of Plus Size looked great in that dress.

Brandon once again came out with things hanging of his outfit. He should’ve been called out on it after being asked to do something different just last week.

Samantha was very one-note with her “Lolita dresses,” so whatever to her elimination. Interesting how this time around with Claire/Shawn, it was Claire propping Shawn up to top three instead of the other way around. Nice to see Tim Gunn making some issue out of the double-dipping in judging, but it wasn’t enough to break up the alliance. Kentaro’s look was the clear victor, so congratulations to him! Love that his model can speak Japanese and relate to him on that level. Kenya’s look in the top three really surprised me. That dalmations fabric was horrible, and combining it with emerald green for the pants and uneven vest was pretty ill-advised. Liris strikes again with her damn nonsense (“I want to look like Beyoncé in concert, but on the streets”), but Michael delivered a nice look to compliment her figure. I didn’t like how Margarita turned on her model in judging when things weren’t going her way. She was plenty into the collaboration and Aaliyah look otherwise prior to this. Nice challenge with the models getting in the driver’s seat for a chance. I wonder where the added focus on the models and production is coming from this season? In other seasons, TPTB have barely given either a second thought (except that unfortunate models companion show they did for a single season, though that might have been from Bravo days).

I dont mind an episode where the models are clients but the whole models being a part of the show is getting old… i dont care what some model has to say about an outfit .. she didnt design it or sew it … MODEL IT and shut up

It was another good episode. I agree there’s a lot of talent this season, so even the looks that I think clearly should be in the bottom aren’t as bad as some in the past or, say, Aaron’s terrible look in the previous episode.

I liked the models as the clients, and overall I’m really enjoying getting a little feedback from them. For one, they’re the only people giving any perspective on what it feels like to have to wear these clothes, and a lot of them probably have a better window into the imaginary client these designers are trying to create for than most people would. And Liris is the best. Beyonce! I love that she and Michael got so much focus in this episode despite not ending up in the top or bottom.

All three of the top looks were strong, and I would have been glad for any of them to win, even Shawn. Sure, her look was an amalgam of what she and the model were wearing in concept, but it was what the model wanted, it looked great, and she did enough with it to make it look fashionable and not just like something that came off the rack at Forever 21.

Shawn’s dependence on Claire is annoying, but Kelsea Ballerini made a great point in that Claire, who is the stronger tailor I guess but clearly needs to devote for time to her actual designs, could choose not to help her. I was glad Tim said something, too, although Claire’s look with pants instead of shorts would have been even more blah and boring. She could see how boring it was, which was why she kept making the shorts shorter. I watched the First Look with the first 15 or so minutes of next week’s episode, and it looks like they will be on a team together, which will, I would think, negate any complaints about them helping one another unless they go way over the top.

I really liked Samantha in that she had a clear idea of what she likes to do and was passionate without being a whole lot of drama, but she was clearly never going to be what this competition would have wanted, so even though I liked her dress just fine, I get it. She wouldn’t have even been in my bottom three, though, as I would have replaced her with Batani. I loved the print she used, but the outfit looked like a costume from Carmen that I can’t see a person actually wearing in a casual setting. Also, that overcoat that Ayana made was kind of cool but did look like a robe. Claire’s look was lackluster enough that I wouldn’t have minded seeing her get eliminated for it, and I don’t really see her doing anything that works. My pick, though, would have been Margarita. She complained so much about Shawn’s look being a copy, but her look was a poorly done version of stuff we saw in music videos 15 years ago. And she made poor Christina seem like she’d tastelessly insisted on this ridiculous outfit that Margarita designed with glee. If she had reservations, she should have mentioned them. The jacket was good, though.

That shade of emerald green was tacky, and I found the dalmations print to be very distracting. The sewn-in vest was crooked in the back, which I thought Zac or Nina would have readily dinged Kenya for. I’m a genuine fan of hers usually (and think she’s final four material), but not with this week’s design. Nothing “amazing” about that mess.
