Shontall’s straws dress might have been the best unconventional materials winner the show’s ever had. Like, werk bitch! Her design was great enough to be in a final runway collection. Crazy that she was almost eliminated in a teams challenge where her partner had questionable immunity. Aaron’s and Kristina’s designs were both impressive. Prajje’s doily look was rough, and spray-painting it at the end did it no favors. Chasity’s design was unfinished and coming apart on the runway. It was a good wake-up call for her and might start an underdog narrative (strengthened if she finds herself in the bottom again; otherwise, a strong frontrunner and final four contender). Anna’s look wasn’t that bad to me, and at least it had some reference points to her Chinese culture. Prajje’s after-show interview was quite charming and engaging. If more of this side of his personality showed during the season versus the abrasive personality seen in episode after episode, maybe my view of him would be different. That could have easily been editing manipulation, but not all of it. Also, Christopher John Rogers is very … opinionated. I’ll leave it at that.December 20, 2021 at 10:02 am #1204668681
Shantall’s straw dress was incredible. It was such a deserved win for her, and it was sweet how emotional the judges seemed about it. The contestants overall did a very good job in the challenge. Aaron’s and Kristina’s looks were great, and I also liked Bones’ and Anna’s looks very much. I was surprised to see Anna in the bottom three. I supposed the dress still looking like it was made from those bags may have hindered her, because the only other people whose looks were clearly not constructed from conventional fabrics were Prajje and Chasity, who were a clear bottom two in my mind. Prajje’s whole concept didn’t really make sense to me, making the under dress from pleather and then covering it entirely in doilies, and the execution didn’t work. It was nice to see Prajje have a moment of comforting Anna when she was crying over Octavio being eliminated. He was kind of terse even then, but it was a contrast to him in the previous episodes.January 5, 2022 at 10:51 pm #1204699615
Episode Title: “The Housewives”
Synopsis: Bravo’s Real Housewives of Potomac, Orange County, and New York City bring their signature attitudes to the catwalk for a client challenge like no other; emotions run high as each designer is paired with a housewife to create a reunion show look; another contestant is eliminated from the competition.

Anna’s exit made me teary. Her look was the most artistic and probably would have been safe or greater in a different challenge. For a “RH” reunion show though, this wasn’t the moment. I wish they would have shown her examples of the show beyond the guide pictures, b/c I could tell that she had no conception as a foreigner what the franchise was. Since I know none of these housewives, it was fun to see the designers get into such a frenzied state over working with them. Kristina’s battles with “Dr. Wendy” made the episode, as well as the lively runway. They all genuinely looked good and sold their designs, even Anna’s housewife. Oh well. It’s only gonna get more cutthroat as the season concludes.January 8, 2022 at 8:00 am #1204704821
I am glad that Shantall got the save because she is proving why she should be there and she is the one to beat. I knew Anna was going home based on the fit of that dress. I saw the concept, but there was a miss on the execution. Kristina and Dr. Wendy both played a hand in their working relationship. Kristina was right when Dr. Wendy did not flat out say no to pants, however Kristina was wrong to start the next day by asking Wendy what type of mood she was in. The finished look of Bones’ dress was a lot better than what was shown in the workroom. I liked Bones’ dress better than Chastity’s black dress. Chastity appeared to be the one to beat, but she is losing steam and it is getting tougher and tougher.January 9, 2022 at 8:06 am #1204707306
This was a great episode and a challenge that could be repeated in future seasons. Chantal deserved her win, although the whole thing felt a bit less exciting since she went first with the critiques and LuAnn was hardly featured. So it was easy to root for Aaron and Giselle instead. But in the end, you know anybody can and has done this outfit for Giselle with their eyes closed. It might have had a better execution than pretty much anything Giselle wears, but it was TOO much “classic been there done that Giselle” for me to support a win for him.January 10, 2022 at 12:45 pm #1204713352
This episode and challenge were so much fun! It made me wish I were more familiar with these Housewives. The only one of this crop that I kind of knew was Luann, but I enjoyed them all, especially Dr. Wendy and Shannon. I would have watched this as a crossover, with a second episode about the Housewives POV. It was great they had Andy there for the judging as well.
Most of the looks were very good, I thought. Kudos to Shantall on another well-deserved win. It’s interesting how she’s thriving, while Octavio and Anna are gone and Kristina was in the bottom two this week. It still feels like the judges eliminated her when they did because they were afraid to get rid of Octavio or Anna, even though both seemed more deserving. Shantall is showing just how much she deserved that Siriano Save. Aaron’s look was strong, and I was surprised how well Bones’ look turned out, too. He and Shannon were a funny duo. Coral’s dress was very cool except that it was flesh colored. I did feel very bad for Anna. I didn’t like her look at all, but she definitely seemed at a disadvantage from both being unfamiliar with those concept of the reunion shows and having the Housewife who seemed least comfortable giving direction. She also has been off design-wise since the episode where she had to go to the hospital, which is a shame.January 13, 2022 at 5:34 am #1204724074
Episode Title: “Haute Hair”

Tough break for Aaron! Deserved elimination for a very unflattering jumpsuit (yet awesome trench!), but at least he served great commentary in the confessionals throughout. I thought he might have a legitimate shot at Fashion Week. Bones being the last male (if that’s even how Bones identifies, who knows?) is fairly shocking. I was so #TeamOctavio, and we see how that turned out. We could very well have an all-female final four, which would be wild and pretty fierce to boot. Bones didn’t really get the villain edit I figured he would this season, which would have been easy yet expected. Coral’s design was fine to me as separates. The problem was how the hairstyling completely clashed with her look. Chasity’s win was so thoroughly telegraphed that it was eye-rolling, but three wins is no joke! She’s the one to beat now. Didn’t like the tiger print at all and agreed with Elaine that it battled with her model’s hairstyle too much. Anyways, time for final four predictions! Chasity and Shontall seem assured placers, with the latter being the first Siriano save that could win the competition outright. Narrative! I’m basing the other two from the collections I’d want to see the most: Bones and Kristina, I guess. Just have a gut feeling that Coral chokes before the finale, based on absolutely nothing.January 18, 2022 at 9:46 am #1204735952
I’ve been trying to guess who would get to final four, and have been assuming Shantall and Kristina for a few weeks now. I would next have guessed Chasity and probably Aaron after her. Him getting eliminated was very surprising to me, maybe partly because I’ve felt that Coral has been the weakest designer left for a while now. I like her, so it’s not that I’m rooting against her, but kind of like Katie and Zayden before her, she just seems like she’s not able to do what the competition needs her to do. I didn’t her look this week was bad, but it also wasn’t good or interesting. Aaron did have that terrible jumpsuit, but I thought the coat would be enough to save him, because it was fantastic. Chasity’s look came together well, and she definitely had a winner’s edit throughout this episode, but I didn’t really like it. I didn’t like the print either, or the bedazzled slashes in the front. But I guess the other choice was Kristina’s look, which felt like a take on Shantall’s look from the previous challenge with the Real Housewives. Shantall pulled her look for this challenge together quite well, especially considering the rip issue she had late in the game. I agreed with the judges commentary that Bones’ look didn’t quite get there, but I liked where it was going.
Are we getting the format where we go to a final four, they all make collections, and then one of them is eliminated before showing based on a mini-collection presented to the judges? I can’t help but think Coral will be eliminated next, but it’s always tricky trying to guess which designer sabotage themselves when left to their own devices for a few months.January 20, 2022 at 12:09 am #1204739616
Episode Title: “The Model as Muse”
Synopsis: For the first time ever in “Project Runway” history, the remaining designers will be creating looks for the same supermodel in this one-of-a-kind challenge; another contestant is eliminated from the competition.

All-female final four! Making that history 19 seasons in lol! Shontall was such an easy winner that I thought for a second that Coral would win just to make things interesting and competitive. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case. Couldn’t stand that shade of yellow for Coral’s design, but the photo was indeed dramatic enough for top two placement. Odd that they set up Shontall as an “outsider” to the group. This has been a very chummy crop of designers overall, and I recall the group being in tears over Christian’s save of her a couple of weeks ago. Between the bottom three, Kristina would have been my easy elimination. The blue/green contrast was hideous, her trash bin prop was weird, and the photo wasn’t flattering to the supermodel at all. At least Bones tried something unique, even if he went overboard with his directions on the photo shoot and made his design too constrictive. Chasity’s Disney villain look was fine as a standalone, but I agree that the photo could have showcased the dress better than that. Interesting final four all the same. My initial predictions were so off and male-centric (what the producers probably preferred): Octavio (who I thought would win), Bones, Aaron, and last girl standing Chasity. Didn’t see Shontall’s dominance happening with FOUR challenge wins! Werk, bitch! I thought Coral would have been long gone by now, and Kristina by the halfway point. Chasity has been up and down aesthetically, and challenges like this really bring out her immaturity. But three challenge wins is a significant achievement regardless. Shontall is in the lead and the clear frontrunner going into NY Fashion Week. Her photo was a work of art, plain and simple. Ready for the finale!January 24, 2022 at 9:05 am #1204746686
Yeah, Shantall really dominated in this challenge, and good for her. Her look was stunning, and the photo was fantastic. What she’s shown time and again now is that she can work within whatever situation she has and best use it to her advantage. Last week, when her leather pants ripped, she just changed course and made something that didn’t at all look like a backup plan. This week, she got that ladder (unreal that people were picking a trash bin and a wooden palate over a fan and a ladder) and totally incorporated the possibilities into the design of the dress. I also really enjoyed seeing her talking to her adorable baby and her hot husband. I was very surprised with the setup of Shantall as someone who the other designers weren’t helping. After Bones was helping Chasity and Kristina (who seem like his closer friends than Shantall and Coral), I figured Coral would help Shantall, and I could see why Shantall was upset about it. Coral did have a great photo, even though her look was my least favorite overall. I didn’t like Kristina’s concept — I’m not a fan of creating an homage look to your other looks unless it’s a finale thing — and also didn’t really like her look or her photo very much. But I did think that Bones’ photo was worse. He designed what would have been a great runway look, but it didn’t work well with his prop or his concept. The matching headpiece he gave the model also didn’t do him any favors. I think instead of talking himself out of the denim cocoon (which could have made for some interesting photos even if a weird contrast), he should have talked himself out of the tornado concept. “I wanted her to look like a tornado,” is not much of a story. I agreed with the comment that Chasity’s look really didn’t do much to convey villainy, and certainly not in an interesting way. It looked kind of Disney on Ice to me, and felt like a miss.
I can’t believe this is the show’s first all female top four! Shantall seems like a huge frontrunner at this point, but one challenge can change everything.January 27, 2022 at 9:14 am #1204753699
Episode Title: “The Sky Is the Limit”
Synopsis: Four designers compete for the three spots in the season finale; the designers need to show the judges their brand and vision for the future of fashion in a single look.
Discuss.January 28, 2022 at 2:19 pm #1204757074
All four women finalists were too much for the judging panel to pass up, I guess. It should make for a dynamic runway finale, but just for kicks, who would have been my final three? It’s tricky what the judges asked of them in this challenge: give us the future of fashion while also showing the distinctive brand that we’ve seen from you the entire season. I actually think that Kristina did that the “best” aesthetically with risky daywear over evening, though she’s my least favorite of the remaining designers. I could see her brand selling the best to “real women” as well, but she’ll need to simplify her designs some like Elaine said. I know I’ve seen that sort of look Chasity made countless times on red carpets with those peekaboo midriff section cutouts. Stunning as an evening gown, and I liked that she stuck to her guns with Christian to use all black instead of color. Shontall’s suit had fit issues, so not one of my favs from her, but I appreciated the ambitious concept with the paneling. Also, DD is one of the fiercest models the series has ever had and is a fucking star! The sky “should” be the limit for them in the modeling industry, but it sadly won’t be. Coral might have surprised me the most. Loved that Mexican warrior princess vibe she had going on, and the macramé effect she does with her designs is truly everything. I wrongfully underestimated this bad bitch! So from these four, I would have eliminated Kristina, and ironically, out of these finalists, she probably has the chance to be the most commercial. It’s the Gretchen vs. Mondo debacle all over again on what the goal for the season’s winner is. If it’s just about turning lewks on the runway, I think it’s still between Shontall and Chasity FTW. They can’t miss with a diversity pick this season, so that’s a plus lol. Shontall being the first Siriano save to win is a strong narrative. I actually want to see the series do a “Last Chance Runway” (like “Top Chef” does) where an eliminated designer fights back to the show. Still have the Siriano save if you must, but that could be a cool thing to do as a web series. Karlie Kloss being back on was cute, but in this capacity? No thanks. Ready for the finale! Tommy Hilfiger is the guest judge. Not now
