The season premiere aired last night on Bravo, which I totally missed b/c I was …. preoccupied on here. Anyways, I’ll catch up with this episode soon and see what this new season has in store.December 6, 2019 at 7:04 am #1203219845
I like them all this season. This should be good!December 7, 2019 at 9:47 am #1203221447
Excellent season premiere! Usually the premiere is the “signature lewks” challenge, so this space mission idea was different. Inherent drama from the start with a first team challenge? Check. Lively, diverse set of designers this season! And a double elimination! I liveeee, bitches! So glad that Christian Siriano gets to have a “save” this season like Tim Gunn used to. It wasn’t merited here so early, I don’t think, but maybe Asma’s modest Muslim looks could have been streamlined to something more refined. Jenn, meh. Modern goth wear designers have been on here for long enough. Yay for Brittany! I’m partial to Geoffrey’s jumpsuit and that red-and-white, striped, airport-inspired jumpsuit from the cocky lab coat guy as my favs. But I like Brittany and think that she will be one to watch out for this sesson. Hope that the show returns to the Emmy fold next year. Bravo’s version is so much better and more expensive than any of the cheapness Lifetime put on, but now I think the oniy reason for the continued attention all these years was b/c of Heidi and Tim. Let’s see what the reception is for their Amazon series whenever it airs. Excited for what’s in store!December 7, 2019 at 10:07 am #1203221522
Didn’t pay attention to the whole episode, but this is a show that I’ll definitely watch forever. I was disappointed because I was, I don’t know, drunk?, and sort of maybe kinda forgot that I wasn’t gonna see Tim and Heidi in this episode. Af if last season never happened. But it’s still a great show and it actually looks like they have a bigger budget, or at least not a cheap budget because the stars of the show left. It looks better than last season.
It was a good episode and the right person won. I didn’t predict the double elimination, but I thought about it and didn’t think they would do it. Glad it happened.December 10, 2019 at 9:47 am #1203229102
Just got to watch this last night, and it was a good first episode! At first, I was a little bothered with them starting with a partnered challenge, but honestly, these people should be able to work with one other person and still make something that represents them, so it was fine. Some of these designers seem like they’d be very annoying to their fellow designers (Delvin, Alan, Sergio), but they’re good TV. I felt bad for Jenn and Asma getting that double elimination, but their looks were both so much worse than anything else. Asma could probably have saved herself if she hadn’t been complaining that the cotton (of all things) threw her off. It was the right move. Great win for Brittany, but I also liked Geoffrey’s and Delvin’s jumpsuits. Also loving Geoffrey’s commitment to not wearing sleeves.
I think it’ll be a good season. I do still miss Heidi and Tim, but Christian seems to have more zing this season, and Karlie seems to have more personality.December 12, 2019 at 5:19 am #1203233345

I saw this episode title and thought it might be a cross-promotion for the abomination that will be the Cats movie.December 14, 2019 at 8:56 am #1203235962
Veronica’s diapers/bloomers look was the worst of the week, so this was a deserved elimination. Sometimes the tell-tale phone call/FaceTime home is the editing giveaway of who’s going home, and that was the actual case this time. Nice win for Marquise. Not to my tastes, but it fit all the requirements of the “street chic” challenge and the judges loved it, so good for him. Delvin’s way too cocky this early into the competition, but he seems to have the talent to back that attitude up with a close second-place finish. Glad to see Dayoung okay and slide on through to safety with only a day to finish. Sergio’s another one who’s too arrogant for what he’s actually outputting. It’s great that you outfitted Billy Porter and all, but you’re still on here for a reason as an amateur designer trying to win a reality competition show, so some perspective and humility, please. I don’t know of any woman wanting to wear “street-chic” as a flowing asymmetrical dress and train dragging to the ground. Not sure if I had a favorite this episode, since I find animal prints in general to be tacky and gaudy. The blatant “CATS” shilling was no better, and this new, revised trailer still looks as bad as the first one. Oh well.December 16, 2019 at 7:45 am #1203239490
Ha, how dense of me. OF COURSE this was to promote CATS.
I’m not sure what feels more restrictive, having to use an animal print or having to work in teams. The designers seemed to like this challenge better, though I think the work overall was better last week. Veronica’s look wasn’t great, but I kind of liked the idea of it. Actually I thought all of the bottom looks were very middle of the pack, and that the worst looks escaped with being safe. The standout worst for me was Sergio’s look, which I strongly disliked and also didn’t go with the challenge. I’m glad Dayoung came back, and seemed to handle the pressure of doing the challenge in one day pretty well. Marquis’s win was deserved, though credit to Delvin for finding and using the coolest print.
This is an interesting crop of designers, with a lot of personality going on between Sergio, Delvin, Victoria, and Alan, among others. It’s funny seeing how they clash against Christian’s personality, which is coming out a lot more than it was last season.December 19, 2019 at 6:37 am #1203243862

This was a fun episode, and it was good to see the designers out of their element a little more. Some of the creations were really great, while others, of course, were disastrous. I felt bad for Alan getting eliminated, but I think it was the right choice. Brittany, for as much as she seemed like a train wreck all the way up to the runway show, was better off essentially wrapping her model in wrapping paper than making some of the mistakes Alan and Tyler made. Victoria’s confidence about being in the top was funny, but totally warranted. Was she supposed to believe her dress was on par with those bottom looks? “I am not a confident person, but I do have eyes.” Ha. Sergio’s dress was beautiful, and filled with holiday spirit, a deserving win.December 23, 2019 at 12:48 pm #1203248146
No more Alantude?!?! He was the kind of contestant that TPTB would keep on for at least half a season in the past, but usually if that person stirred the pot more as a “villain.” Alan was just mostly annoying, so whatever. I don’t think he had the worst design of the week though. Tyler’s “freakum dress” should have instantly sent him home. Along with that, cocky Delvin’s “safe” dress should have been bottom three too. Yay for Sergio’s design winning this great unconventional materials challenge! Usually I give a side-eye to overqualified ringers on these reality competition shows, b/c it makes the winner feel inevitable. For some reason, Sergio’s career isn’t where he wants it to be, even though he’s dressed Billy Porter and Gaga, but who knows? Shavi’s ugly flower petals dress being that close to the win was inexplicable. At least Victoria’s look had some original flair to it with the cranberry sleeves. I hope this is a strong wake-up call for Brittany. I have her in the finale with Sergio, so let this be a one-time fall from grace and not a sustained pattern of descent.
