The reunion just proves once again, that Vanjie owned the season. Ru spent half the reunion talking to or about Vanjie. It even ended with her “singing”.

Ru is so far up Silky’s ass, that we barely got to see any clips of her being annoying, which is gonna be remembered as one of the main points of the season: everybody hates Silky. They tried to cover it with Yvie’s fights with her, but it wasn’t enough.

The discussion about Plastique, Ariel and Soju was annoying as fuck. It just shows how terrible the casting was. They got 3 useless girls (Kahana, Mercedes and Honey) which is normal for any season, but then they bring in 3 other girls with no performing experience, just some fake instagram girls, so that makes 6 terrible queens. Add Scarlett, Shuga and Raja and you have over half the queens being at some level of terrible or uninteresting. We also have to deal with Silky’s personality. Then you have Akeria who is just an average queen when it comes to television. What the fuck with this casting?

And am I the only one who remembers the shitty reading challenge? Who allows these queens to read again on television? It was just as awful the second time. (Nina’s was kind of funny).

ariel was a regular performer before her social media fame, plastique is a trainer dancer, bashing the season is fine but that’s some unfounded assumption you’re making

Did they record all four winning ? or just two winning ?

3 last year. I’m gonna guess only 2 this year.

Just as stiff. Nobody would dare defend that No Scrubs lip sync. Meh.

that was quite the ending to this season, everything unfolded as expected yet somehow we had probably the most unexpected and satisfying ending to a season of drag race

plastique and shuga ATE that runway up, scarlet looked gorgeous but the top was a little off, now that she’s probably off to all stars I hope pearl teaches her how to do a proper breast contour

I’m surprised as emmy-hungry as rupaul is would cut the top 4 interview down to just introducing family members and a few final words, not that I miss the boring story time too much

biggest takeaway from the first lip sync was that beyonce is finally giving drag race rights to her songs, guess vh1 helped clear all that debt from s1. brooke’s shoe reveal was honestly something I would’ve never thought of and even if she didn’t have the reveal she would’ve taken out silky no problem, I do have to admit that I liked silky splitting her wig in half, and my friend who went to the taping said they cut out a lot of silky’s good moments

second lip sync was pretty…… meh, apparently yvie had a #FreeBritney reveal that did not read on camera, neither one of them was impressive but akeria’s wig reveal was real ugly, so I guess yvie wins

we been knew MC was gonna go to miss nina west and she had fun with it, but what monet decided to wear for the occasion was bizarre, that basic yellow dress does nothing for her body, spend some of that cheque you got from as4 gurl

aquaria proves that violet’s look at the s8 finale is simply untouchable, i do like that she went the edgy route with this but the tuck was real meaty

and then there’s that final lip sync. I cannot understand why brooke did literally the same things the last time she lip synced against yvie, and the “here comes the reveal” print did not convey itself on camera. she thought she was gonna win the crown with a cheeky joke while yvie had an entirely thought-out concept that sells itself flawlessly on camera. one complaint I’ve had about edge of glory is that while it’s a great song, it’s too “prim and proper” to close an album like born this way, yvie’s interpretation gave me all the energy I wanted from the song itself. brooke might have been the stronger performer in the season but yvie is the much more interesting personality, and she won that lip sync fair and square. not giving her the crown would be like not giving sasha velour the crown, although I do wonder what would’ve happen if sasha and yvie ended up losing and doing all stars with all the touring money to fully realize their concepts, but that would just completely remove the meaning of this competition (not that there is much meaning left anyway)

I am soo glad that Yvie won.

My take away from the lip syncs at the finale was that connecting to the song meant a little bit more than flashy reveals.

Okay my final rundown! Firstly gotta say I love the outcome, I think Yvie is so deserving – she’s been my favourite since week 2 so you could say there is some bias but it made me happy to see her win.

I so much appreciated Yvie’s final lip sync, especially to that song she wasn’t overdoing the performance, instead she was just focusing on poise and relying on how beautifully that dress flows which is not her regular style. Showing that elegance within her weird style. Plus that head piece was just amazing! I love the blood and mirrors concept it was just stunning. She felt like more of a winner than Brooke who was pulling out too many moves and changes without actually focusing on a conherent performance (which is also what Silky did in the first lip sync). Not to take away too much from Brooke though – she is amazing but her first performance was better than her second.

I’m honestly sick of Queens needlessly going through outfit after outfit and wig after wig like Silky’s performance. It’s just been done too much! In saying that I did love Shuga’s runway look – the tearaway totally worked and told a great story there.

Also Aquaria looked AMAZING, I don’t always love her personality but she really can turn a look (Monet was pretty disappointing on the other hand). Nina was such an obvious choice for miss congeniality but that’s great for her, I do love how far she got in the show and that we really got the opportunity to see the whole package of Nina!

    Looks of the night:
Yvie’s finale lip sync, Shuga, Plastique, Scarlet, Aquaria.
