#TeamYvie! I’m over the moon for Yvie, and for the longest time, I thought that Brook Lynn had this crown easily with the most orchestrated wins and the “look” of a winner. But at the same time, the optics of not having a POC regular season victor since Bob the Drag Queen would have been too much to take. Since the internet overwhelmingly supported Yvie, there you have it. She had the full C.U.N.T. that Brook Lynn just didn’t have. There was that desperation with Brook Lynn’s final lip-sync that was exactly like their round 1 match-up. Every hair twirl, every death drop, and an overly self-conscious “reveal” felt too eager to me. Yvie let the emotional pull of “The Edge of Glory” do its job. And frankly, that stunning head piece reveal is what won Yvie her crown. Absolutely sickening, bitches! I hope no one comes for Yvie setting the precedent of a winner with only one victory to her credit winning over Brook Lynn’s three. At least Sasha had two wins over Shea’s four. Goes to show exactly what the power of an epic lip-sync performance is! Silky not choosing Yvie was utter bullshit, especially when we were promised this lip-sync all season long. It wouldn’t have “mattered” in the end, since Silky and A’Keria were completely interchangeable in the destined Brook Lynn/Yvie final, but still. Silky’s hot mess was no match for Brook Lynn (the pointed shoes reveal was her shining moment of the night), who was better the first time than second time. A’Keria underwhelmed like I knew she would. Vanjie should have been there at least for a better show! Loved all three song choices here.
Now for the mediocre finale. I think the final four were severely undercut by not walking out with the rest of the cast (the distinction shouldn’t have been made of the “eliminated queens”), and then the exit interviews didn’t go into their sob stories or most memorable season highlights, but instead panning to their loved ones in the audience. That felt like pure filler, but we got to see the genetic brilliance of Yvie’s father, so that’s something, I guess. I know, the reunion covered some of that, but those clip packages were padded for the gods, and I grew tired of them all and fast-forwarded through them. Christine was a genuine highlight with her Ru number and the alums. Vanjie’s segment … totally get why all of that was there, b/c the bitch is a star, but I’d rather seen more of her season journey than a cheap word-on-the-street segment. If that was the direction they were going, it should have been Love Connie doing those street interviews. Yay for Nina West winning Miss Congeniality! It was a fully deserved win. Monét was looking basic as ever SMDH. Compare with Goddess Aquaria, who matched Violet Chachki in exit finale gold, and there is no comparison. Cheap show production values and no “queens in the audience answering questions” segments were disappointing. Ru’s hair and gown were both middling. She’s looked better in numerous runways this season, like that silver dress that should have been worn here. Rocky, messy, but thoroughly entertainTing season 11! Makes up somewhat for the stench of AS4. Reluctantly ready for S12 & AS5!May 31, 2019 at 11:33 am #1202918092
Forgot to talk about the other girls.
I think Plastique killed look. Shuga did a nice job. Nina looked great from the front, but the back was confusing as it didn’t end up that great. Ariel looks much better without the insanely huge wig that always swallows her. This is not Vanjie’s best look, she could’ve done better. Scarlett looked great too.
Monet X Change came out showing that she was a bullshit winner on All Stars. This is not how you come out after you’ve won a crown. It’s not even what you wear as a returning Miss Congeniality! It was extremely basic, regular looking and exactly the kind of shit that would get you voted out during the season.
Ru also looked basic as fuck.
The tribute to Michelle’s breast was fun.May 31, 2019 at 11:43 am #1202918104

Damn, you can name a bunch of previous queens when you look at each and every one of those pictures. From Trinity, to Trixie, to Blair, to a Naomi/Aja combo, Detox, Mayhem, Alexis Mateo, Sahara, and many more.
