I don’t fully know who I’m rooting for yet. They all have something that holds me back from going in hard for them to win.
Gigi is obviously outstanding, but it’s almost TOO clinical in its approach. It’s too meticulously planned that I feel a gust of wind could easily knock her. Plus her runways have been VERY similar most weeks, with an identical silhouette.
Jaida has possibly been the most consistent (save for the one woman show). She’s had my favourite runways collectively out of the final three. But again she needs to be able to let loose a bit. Enjoy the moment, rather than having fear of an unknown. I’d give her the edge with my vote, but she can’t be in her own head in the finale.
Crystal has been the big surprise this year. At the start, it felt like she was staying in because Ru took a shine, but she has really proved herself. However, we’ve had kooky queens win a few times now, and I don’t see Crystal being equal to, or better than, the likes of Yvie Oddly or Sasha Velour. America’s Next Drag Race Superstar needs to bring something fresh. I don’t see Crystal having that uniqueness compared to past winners.
Don’t even get me started on how SP made it to the final four regardless of what she has done outside of the competition. She has played the same character in every challenge. Given us really bland and uninspired runways. Had pretty much the same face every week. I don’t get what the judges saw when they said she was bringing something fresh. Jackie was more deserving of the final spot, but hopefully at least the history books will show that Jackie finished in 4th.

that was very cute, nothing particularly exciting but hey, not every season can have its “you don’t love me” moment
the earlier outs got most of the airtime tonight and I genuinely love that, for the millionth time this is a really fantastic group of girls and more time spent with the likes of widow, jan, nicky, and rock was an absolute blessing for me, widow especially was the stand out in several segments, can’t wait to see her fully realized on all stars
loved the return of the library, everyone went in except for nicky who failed to make anyone understand her joke about not being understood, which was hilarious in and of itself. vanjie’s segment was… weird, but hey, it’s more vanjie so I’ll take it
the top 3 didn’t get much airtime except for jaida, whose one-liners work better in this format than others, but the airtime distribution between the finalists has also been an indicator of how they did in the finale and judging from tonight I would say jaida seemed to be the most confident
having five lip syncs in the finale is… interesting, I’ve heard the top 3 would each do a solo performance, not sure how the other two would be like, also this gives gigi quite an edge because she’s worked with the werq the world team for in-studio performances already, but we shall see
ReplyCopy URLThe reunion was good. It was fun and very funny at times. The reading challenge was excellent, pretty much every joke worked, so it was nice to see.
Screentime or talktime felt weird, the top 3 barely spoke and received questions from Ru.
The Top 3 OBVIOUSLY stays a Top 3. Some of my friends were expecting Jackie to be announced for the finale and kept insisting throughout the week without realising that Ru announced the #team votes last week and said vote for…these 3. You can’t include Jackie a week later when the other 3 have been receiving votes for a week and Jackie hasn’t. Not that these votes count for anything, but they have to pretend they do and be fair.
I’m #teamgigi but like many others, I have a feeling Jaida will win. But Gigi should win. It’s a great top 3.
