Pretty bad episode and really rushed throughout. Now I see what the MTV move really means, since last week’s double-episode premiere hid what was going on. Maybe 40 minutes of content total with many commercials, no mini-challenge (though that absence I’m generally fine with), no judges’ deliberations, runways that lasted like five seconds each, a half-baked “afterlife” team acting challenge, and judging individually instead of by teams (then what was the point of teams?). I did like Ts Madison taking over for Carson and Ross, which I hope continues on a rolling basis. Sasha Colby shined in her team’s promo ad and met the hype of her famed reputation head-on. The Leftovers team was a mess, and Jax shouldn’t have been safe as the leader of the group. Princess Poppy didn’t seem that worse than the others to me, but after confessing in “Untucked” that she was fine going home, I don’t feel the need to see more from her. Amethyst back in the bottom 2 was unfortunate. Not ready to call her a “lip-sync assassin” just yet, but she’s delivered both times when it’s counted. I’m with Mistress though. Three strikes, and you’re out, Amethyst! Don’t know why a Maren Morris song wasn’t chosen for the lip sync, since that Diana Ross song was laughable in Amethyst’s and Poppy’s hands. Whatever Poppy was doing, wow. Diana Ross is RuPaul’s IDOL, and if you don’t step your pussy up with one of her songs, you’re a true goner. Snatch Game next episode? With 14 queens? I’m baffled how that will go and why it’s so early this season.

Having the shorter episodes and having The Real Friends of WeHo splitting up Drag Race and Untucked makes me think of the uproar when Wendy Williams co-hosted the live viewing party. This occurred when RuPaul’s Drag Race moved from Bravo to VH1. Bad decisions made then and bad decisions made now.

A one hour show with that many queens? I warned my friends how rushed it was and it was very noticeable. I mean is MTV’s programming slate that stellar that it can’t be pushed back? I agree that The Middle should have been the LSFYL song. Is it wrong that I’ve given up on Untucked?

The premiere of “The Real Friends of WeHo” is airing between “Drag Race” and “Untucked.” I think the idea is to create some kind of new programming block, but it’s so misguided taking away the usual runtime expectation for the longtime fans with filler garbage. But they don’t care about that, b/c it’s about getting new and younger viewers. Then some show called “Ridiculousness” is repeating nonstop ’til 8 AM Saturday and all through the weekend. MTV is total shit now.

    Episode Title: “Supersized Snatch Game”

Synopsis: Ru serves up a double helping of the celebrity impersonation game show, with the queens playing in two rounds, with two different casts of characters; Amandla Stenberg (“The Hate U Give”) guest judges; another contestant is eliminated from the competition.

Two rounds of Snatch Game and a runway in a 1 hour time frame? I’m sure it won’t feel rushed at all, right? RIGHT?

The gaggery of these double Snatches! Still not the worst of the series, but Round 1 ended up being far better than Round 2. Loosey LaDuca rocked it as Joan Rivers, so fully deserved win there. I’d probably have tied her with Mistress Isabelle Brooks, or at least have a winner for each round. Super-rushed episode, no judges deliberations again, and that lip-sync lol. They could have milked the twins’ novelty for far longer, but the Sugar vs. Spice match-up was always inevitable. Aura was so clearly the worst of the night and should have been one of the bottom two. Too bad, but the twins are set for life post-“Drag Race,” so I’ll never feel that sorry for them. I can already tell that Spice will implode without having Sugar around. Oh wells. Step your pussy up, bitch, or else!

Interesting design challenge, and a deserved win for Luxx. At first, I thought something was being done to the rooms themselves, but there wasn’t any time for that. Criminal that the reading challenge was rushed to the extent that it was. Too many damn queens to cover, with some of them only getting one read in (either the shit MTV edit or they blew it with unfunny reads), and only the expected frontrunners got multiple reads in. Loosey delivered well, and with this and her epic Joan Rivers in Snatch Game, she’s making a strong case for finale placement. It was Amethyst’s time. Three strikes, and indeed, you’re outta there, bitch. I would have been perfectly fine with Selina going home too, since I find her chola drag aesthetic tacky and overdone. Jax is consistently underwhelming, and I fail to understand why Robin is still there wasting time. Spice without Sugar is kinda sad to watch, but I hope the editors give Spice the solo redemption arc versus the weaker twin imploding without the stronger twin around arc. Loveddd Janelle Monáe as guest judge, and adored them in “Untucked” giving a necessary sermon to the gurls. No damn judges deliberations, so we can’t even get a feel for what the thinking was with the tops and bottoms of the week. Totally get why “Q.U.E.E.N.” was chosen as the lip-sync song, but there were better choices, like practically anything from “Dirty Computer.” “Make Me Feel” was right there, or even something slower like “Pynk” or “I Like That.” Definitely watch “Untucked” this season to get some sort of extra dose of the queens that these short episodes are sorely lacking. The least WOW can do is either drop the unedited episodes on Paramount+ or the WOW app, or cancel that garbage “WeHo” show and make the episodes 90 minutes again.

I gave up on Untucked last year or year before. Just too much drama, but not the good kind haha. The way too short reading challenge, ugh. But this 1 hour edit is painful, especially early on.

A few have stood out as having finale potential: Sasha Colby and Loosey LaDuca are top of the pack, with a couple of others in the running as well, but who knows how they will do in the next few weeks. I liked Amethyst but she overwhelmed herself. Salina is just too much, which I’m sure is her personality on and off stage, but it’s still a lot.

Luxx was the actual and true winner this week. No having to guess what the placement would have been haha.

Jax started with promise, but hasn’t delivered yet. Robin, come on, step it up! Marcia has the talent, but not the wardrobe. If she doesn’t do more with her look (clothes and makeup) Michelle will Jan Brady her behind. Mistress is growing on me some. At first I thought she was going to be an “I’m so much better than everyone and everyone is bad” type of queen, but seems to be wanting to bond and be helpful and has the makeup and the wardrobe. If she’s smart, she won’t help Marcia.
