There goes my underdog Malaysia narrative lmao. I do think some missed potential was buried underneath the surface with her, and I’m far more interested in her drag persona than anything I’ve seen or want to see from Selina EsTitties, so whatever. Surviving three lip-syncs is ridiculous, but I guess Selina’s mimicking brought more energy to that shitshow lip-sync of the iconic “Single Ladies” than Malaysia did. Don’t think that Sasha deserved this challenge win either over Luxx or especially Loosey, whose delusions of grandeur make top-notch television for sure, but at least here it was warranted. Love the feuding between MIB and Loosey lol. I need more of that moving forward in the extended episodes, plz! If there was any doubt that Sasha’s gonna steamroll this season outright, look no further than 3 challenge wins already with almost half a season still left. Looks like Ts Madison has been upgraded to the rotation of panel judges with Carson and Ross, so kudos to the upgrade! Love Connie gave me my fucking life, as expected, but personally I would have been massively disappointed if I was saddled with interacting with Charo or Frankie Grande in a team challenge. Another nice touch was seeing some rare vulnerability from Luxx in “Untucked” by bringing back the video messages from family members.

Synopsis: The remaining queens perform stand-up comedy in pairs, but an odd number of queens causes for some drama; comic Ali Wong (“Ali Wong: Baby Cobra”) serves as guest judge; another contestant is eliminated from the competition.

ReplyCopy URLMarch 10, 2023 at 11:26 pm #1205342419The extended episodes feel like classic “Drag Race,” so kudos for doing that five episodes too late. We got the full mini-challenge (excellent), confessionals, and judges’ critiques. Odd maxi comedy challenge with the duos, and Selina sealed Marcia 3X’s fate the minute she made her take the solo slot (and by extension, Anetra picking Marcia to go first). Epic lip-sync regardless to the first Doja Cat song on the series that I can remember. That really should have been a double shontay. MTV was like, these bitches are going home every single week! No chocolate bars, no double saves, no freebie episodes, nothing! Gotta make room for more “Ridiculousness” marathons! Marcia absolutely held her own in a ball gown against Anetra’s stunts. But Ru hated Marcia from the beginning though, and for the final nail in her coffin, Miss Musical Theater didn’t even make it to the Rusical lmao. Even Jan was allowed to compete in that challenge during her season and wrongfully lose. The final insult being that Selina is actually in the top six, which is quite undeserved. She wouldn’t have survived a fourth bottom placement. Nice challenge wins for Luxx and Loosey! They really nailed the chemistry and rose above their bickering in the sew room from earlier. Luxx in particular was super-savvy sucking up to Ru like she did in one of her old punk-rock looks this week. Sasha was never going to be in the bottom, so it was always Selina vs. Marcia. Ali Wong was a great guest judge and mentor. Also like seeing Ts Madison in the judges’ rotation with Carson and Ross.

That might have been the worst overall comedy challenge of the show? There wasn’t one performance that redeemed it, everybody was weak to bad. Can’t wait to hear Ms. Loosey go on and on about her (shared) win next episode.
I feel for Marcia, I honestly think Ru just doesn’t like theatre kids lol. Really feels like production never wanted her to get this far in the first place and set her up. But I hope there’s a future where she comes back and slays All Stars.
If it wasn’t completely obvious before that Sasha is winning (it was), it is now. Everyone judged in pairs…except Sasha. I’m very happy with her (an ICON) as our new queen but they could telegraph it a little less.
Top 4 (in order): Sasha, Luxx, Anetra, Mistress

11. JaxMarch 18, 2023 at 2:10 pm #1205356508Salina’s finally gone, and our long, national nightmare is over. Supremely annoyed that two epic songs were wasted on her in the lip-syncs (“Single Ladies” & “Running Up That Hill”), which really should have been saved for the finale. She’s probably perfectly pleasant in real-life, as evidenced through “Whatcha Packin’?”, but the show routinely had her out of her element with tacky, ill-fitting drag aesthetics and grating personality (I’ll admit I did laugh at her “Free Willy!” confessional line). Mid Rusical with “Wigloose,” ranking below the highs of Madonna and “Moulin Rouge!” There was nothing inspired or awful about the story. Loosey carried things well as Heaven Bacon lol, and I have a difficult time seeing Luxx in the lead role instead. That’s such a non-criticism criticism of Michelle Visage saying Loosey wasn’t having enough fun in the number. “You’re too much of a professional!” Boooo, next. The singing voices really didn’t match the queens at all, so that immediately took me out of most of it. Anetra landed the emotional solo, but getting the win for that? TPTB are clearly setting up a Sasha/Anetra final 2 by padding their respective win records. Sasha with the unearned host challenge 3rd, and now Anetra’s 2nd. They couldn’t put Loosey within win range with two consecutive wins at her 3rd, but it was entirely process of elimination having her in the bottom. Getting the classic “who should go home?” question from Ru brought out the teeth from the gurls, and I live! Luxx was so OTT doing that shit to Loosey, and I’m sort of surprised that all of them didn’t give the easy answer of Salina. It was refreshing to hear some say that they wanted their biggest competition gone. Orville Peck was a decent guest judge. The best line reading of the night he gave was in “Untucked” when the queens wanted him to take off his mask, and he said, “I’d like to keep it on, please!” lmao. Serve. Looks like someone really messes up in the makeover challenge next episode. I’m predicting a Luxx/Loosey lip-sync pairing next, since that hasn’t happened yet, and Loosey’s thirsty edit comes to an end with consecutive bottom placements and the dreaded 5th-slot exit. That leaves a final four of Anetra/Sasha/MIB/Luxx, which seems about right, I guess.
