The show has been renewed for 2019, but there’s a change in the audition process. There will be auditions in three cities (New York, Dallas, and Los Angeles), but only in front of low-level producers; when all of the auditions have ended, select dancers will be invited to Los Angeles (at the show’s expense) to audition in front of the judges (i.e. the auditions you see on TV). Note that all of the dancers are warned that being told “yes” by the producers does not guarantee a trip to LA – only that they are still under consideration at that point.
Also, there is no word on how many two-hour episodes the show will get; Nigel has said that this determines whether they have a “top ten” or a “top 20” in the live shows.
