Did anyone watch last week’s premiere of the new season?

I appreciate that the show is trying to shake things up a bit, and I liked that the tribes are having to try harder for food and supplies. They may have thrown in one shenanigan too many, but I guess we’ll see.

    The cast seems good.

I don’t have any favs yet but I def can say that some people (well most of em) are not really looking like long to stay as a competitor lol. Something abut Richard seems very fun off the bat lol

I was really looking forward to this season because it skipped two seasons, but also because we were promised a more difficult and entertaining season. It did deliver on the latter, at least based on the premiere, which was promising.

The negative for me were the backstory segments and what seemed like a desperate move to promote their diversity and wokeness. Survivor always had problems with diversity and seeing such a diverse cast is refreshing, but no need to scream it out loud during the whole episode. I really prefer seeing great players with good strategies, not delving into people’s race, ethnicity or sexuality. The premiere could’ve easily been an hour long if it weren’t for this new try at being politically relevant or whatever. I couldn’t care less about the “guys” thing and I see it as trying to attract an audience which I doubt would start watching the show because of it. If  anything, it’s more probable that the loyal audience would tune out.

I agree that I could have gone for a shorter, tighter episode with some of the backstory that was included here trickled in more naturally throughout the season. Not sure if the intention of the “guys” thing was to attract a more socially conscious audience (is anyone tuning out of a show for something like this?), but I am glad that they addressed it and that Jeff decided not to use it anymore. I don’t think I’ve ever spoken to a single person who said they were bothered by the use of “guys” to refer to a mixed-gender group of people, but I also think if it weren’t a convention that already exists, it would rub many more people the wrong way.

So far, my favorite is Ricard. I also like Dr. Voce, but he doesn’t seem like he’ll make it very far.

That vote off was a choice…..I think that they will regret it tbh since he seemed smart and puzzles are a thing

Yeah, it was like they couldn’t choose between the options that made sense, and so they picked a third option that did not make sense. I feel like being in an alliance with someone who is not helping the tribe win anything and is also paranoid usually works out badly for the other people in the alliance.

Im not sure of all the twists this season. And they need stop trying to be woke or trying to prove to us that they are woke.

Keeping Tiff and getting rid of Voce is dumb. After that scatterbrain moment she had with the idol being active and purple butterflies. They should have sent her packing. Nobody needs that much confusion after being told exactly what is going  on.

I think this week was the first really good episode of the season. For one thing, watching Danny and DeShaun try and fail to throw the challenge in the face of Naseer’s blistering determination was so funny. I generally despise throwing challenges to vote someone out, but usually the logic is “we don’t like this person so we need to get rid of them.” The idea of getting rid of Erika because she felt like too much of a strategic threat is more palatable, but I’m still glad it didn’t work.

The eliminations the last couple of weeks have been smart choices, though I was surprised this week. Also, the wink JD gave Shan at tribal was like one of the best TV winks I’ve ever seen.

It’s like watching Elmer Fudd trying to take down Bugs Bunny but Survivor style lol I found it hilarious too
