It was a good one. I guess if you’re going to be voted out, it’s good to feel like you just got totally lied to and bamboozled rather than having had an inkling that you didn’t act on.

I’m not sure it’s possible for Omar to maintain this level where he’s pulling these strings and people are seemingly oblivious.

I really hate we had to lose a strong player due to a silly twist. I’m still amazed how they kept every stupid twist from last season and yet we have a far better season.

Drea had a potential to be a great player, but I think she played a very passive game. I really liked her, but damn, you don’t tell anyone about your advantages! I was hoping to see Omar blindside Mike and take his idol, but Mike is probably too emotional to appreciate the move and would only hurt Omar as a jury member. On the other hand, Omar put a big target on his back. If he did blindside Mike, he would have idol protection at the next tribal, with only betrayed idol-less Drea to deal with.

I kinda liked the editing making us think it’s Lindsey’s farewell, even though there were still like 20 minutes left. I appreciate her game and would love to see her in the final three. However, I think it’s either her or Omar getting the boot next episode. She has an idol now and I think it’s the last time she can use it?

Maryanne has impressive grasp of the game, but she needs a big move to add to her resume. It is teased in the preview, so I hope she gets her way. Blindsiding Omar would be huge for her.

Romeo is just annoying at this point. I’d hate to see him make it to final three, but who wouldn’t want to sit next to him? Delusional Mike is meh, playing in his own world, without strong allies. Jonathan could make his way to the finale, but I doubt he could win. I wouldn’t mind the winner being Lyndsey, Maryanne or Omar.

I can’t help but think that this season’s winner is either Maryanne or Romeo. As for next week, i know the preview was all let’s get out jonathan but i’m not buying it

It feels like we’re at the stage where people have transitioned from being overly worried about how they’ll get to the end and more focused on getting rid of the people who could win. That’s why Romeo, who has never had any real allies, now feels pretty safe, and why it feels unlikely to me that they’ll focus too hard on getting rid of Jonathan at this juncture. Mike is someone who seems to really believe he’s playing an excellent game, and even though he’s the least impressive person left in the game ever since Rocksroy’s ouster, it does feel like people like him enough to vote for him for the win.

It was a bummer seeing Drea go, but once she told Omar about the advantage, it would clearly be too tempting to not take advantage of that kind of inside knowledge to make a move, even if it’s not really so much the move you want to be making. I’m sure that after these past two seasons, players will be extremely guarded with this advantage, if it comes back.

What a great season this has been. I can’t remember the last time so many people were playing the game so strongly. I loved Maryanne making a big move to get rid of Omar. I’m excited for the finale. Mike and Maryanne will definitely get to top four based on having idols that they’ll have to play at top five, and Lindsay desperately scrambling through the jungle in the preview made it look like Jonathan would probably win immunity at top five, leaving people to probably get rid of her and keep Romeo as a goat.

I’m really surprised how a recycled 41 turned out so good. I think it comes down to casting.

Off topic, I watched Australian Survivor for the first time because of Sandra joining the latest season. I won’t spoil anything, just sharing my thoughts. The season had one of the most entertaining pre-merge episodes for me. I rarely love the pre-merge on the US version. The cast is great, it’s hard to hate someone, no matter how annoying. You actually get to see a lot of players being fans of the game with a lot of knowledge about it. The twists are CRAZY, far better than anything Jeff has done in this new era. Just an example, a player was medically evacuated and instead of just ending the episode there, they had tribal council, voted for someone to leave and that person went to the other tribe. Sometimes it’s obvious the producers are just trying to save someone, but I really didn’t mind.

I really found it very entertaining, it almost felt like it’s scripted, that’s how it feels when pretty much every episode is tense and with shocking turns. What surprised me is that they actually show a lot of what’s happening before tribal and you’re still on the edge of your seat. And then I learned this was one of the weaker seasons!

They hit casting gold with Lindsay, Omar, Mike, Maryanne, Drea, and Jonathan. They carried the season after the merge in my opinion after a few players with a lot of potential were booted pre merge for sure. Only cating misfire this season is Daniel.

41 was terrible, but 42 was great. Mike should’ve won, but the jury almost always votes out of emotion and not who played the best game. That’s why most of the time the people who should win… don’t.

In advance of tonight’s merge episode, I thought I’d retitle this thread to include the current Survivor season and try to get some discussion started.

The season has been fun so far. It doesn’t seem like anyone is really playing at the level that we were seeing gameplay last season, but they are making an effort. The drama queen behavior between Ryan and Geo last episode was hilarious. I like how the show changed the beware advantage this season, and how it’s been working out for people. If I saw one of those, I would walk right by it, which reason number 1,472 why I would not be great this game, LOL.

The group is generally likeable. My favorite so far is Sami, who adorably thinks that lying and claiming to be 22 instead of 19 is an enormous deception. In my brain, those are basically the same number.
