That elimination was an easy choice. Still creeped out but the dead dog concept of shoda thoughApril 30, 2021 at 11:47 am #1204236511
Jamie was strong-armed by her team to prepare her wings dish incorrectly. She should have addressed that more in judging panel than she did, but she’s constantly flustered and makes her weird noises for no reason. Luckily, she beat out Kiki in “Last Chance Kitchen.” and in an interesting plot twist, next winner’s going back to the main competition! Also getting a double elimination next week, so I’m wondering how they’re going to do that. An extended “LCK” episode? I hope this isn’t the end for “LCK.” There’s still plenty of contestants left for a second round. Nice challenge with the drive-in movie theme. So topical with the covid-realness. Shoda took his horror genre way too far, but most did okay with what they were given. Gabriel’s getting that villain edit, or “arrogant chef that still makes top four” edit lol. His cauliflower tots looked gross BTW.April 30, 2021 at 7:21 pm #1204237414

I will stop watching this season if Shota is eliminated; he is all I care about this season! I was so upset last week when they were contemplating letting him go but he had won his head-to-head in the horror round so I thought he was likely going to be o.k. I have never ever loved a contestant as much as I love Shota and I need for him to at least make it all the way to the final. I will admit to liking almost everybody in this year’s cast but Shota is the one and only for me!!!! (;
Of course the problem with cooking competitions is that we can’t taste the food and have to go on what the judges say – I get so nervous when they are discussing Shota’s dishes!!!May 6, 2021 at 9:05 pm #1204245468
I was cheering and jumping up and down when Shota and Sara were the winners this week!!!
I think Jamie must have won the last chance kitchen because I noticed the ladies were much happier than the males when the returning contestant was revealed – I doubt they would have been cheering more than the men for Gabriel, maybe for Nelson but I don’t think so… We will find out who it is next week!
Is there going to be a restaurant wars this season? It won’t be next week since it’s always a week with an even number of contestants. It’s always a favorite episode for me!May 7, 2021 at 10:41 am #1204245989
Well that elimination was interesting-ish. I agree with it but seems like a lot don’t lolMay 7, 2021 at 11:57 am #1204246100
Lots of events transpiring in “Top Chef” land lol! The double elimination caused quite the ripple effect, and some of that was unfortunate. Gabriel and Nelson might have been the weakest team, but it was Nelson’s salmon dish that sent them packing, and Gabriel paid the price. Not that I really needed another cocky white dude chef back in the competition, but leaving like this wasn’t exactly the fairest of options. The winning team had the most creative pairing, I think. Smelt and rabbit sounds utterly disgusting, but I’m glad that they made it work. “Last Chance Kitchen” was very eventful. Jamie’s back in the competition, so good going for her. Nelson withdraws from the show due to his knee injury, so “LDK” is back in operation for the second half of the season! There’s a new winner to that amongst the five remaining eliminated chefs. Crazy that “LDK” has become like a second series to follow along with “Top Chef,” but I’ll take additional content during these awful pandemic times. They’re going full steam ahead and not missing a beat (except no Whole Foods free-for-all shopping), so kudos to them for making the most out of this situation and delivering an excellent season so far!May 13, 2021 at 4:07 am #1204253301
Episode Title: “Feeding the Frontlines”
Synopsis: Chef José Andrés calls in to recruit the chefs to join World Central Kitchen, tasking the remaining chefs with delivering over 500 meals to frontline workers at three local hospitals in Portland, Oregon; another contestant is eliminated from the competition.

I was so happy that Shota had immunity – we will never know but he may have been eliminated without it. That was the last time any of the chefs will have immunity. I am hoping Shota will be on the winning team next week during restaurant wars!!!!
Sad for Avishar – I thought Chris would be the one to go since he has been making the same errors week after week…
Jamie coming back into the competition and winning the elimination challenge was a great way for her to make her comeback! I was rooting for Sara, who is my second favorite this season. That pita bread sure did look delicious!May 14, 2021 at 10:52 am #1204255051
Chris being eliminated over Avishar was disappointing. The latter was a fan favorite, and he didn’t make the cut in “Last Chance Kitchen” either over a surprising juggernaut and early-exiter Sasha. The judges have dinged Chris on his bland-ass food for multiple episodes, so Avishar must have been eliminated on a very close vote, or Chris is being kept around for other reasons besides cooking. Nice elimination challenge in cooking for the frontline hospital workers! Jamie roared back from her exit with the win, so congrats to her! Dawn and Sarah look like genuine frontrunners now, especially with Gabriel gone, who I thought would sail to the final four. Excited to see “Restaurant Wars” next episode! That’s always the highlight of the season and the challenge that separates the chefs from the line cooks. “LCK” was extremely gross BTW with all of those rare meats and blood usage. Watch the video with caution.May 14, 2021 at 3:30 pm #1204255490
How much ahead of time are they filming these episodes??? When will the live final be held (if they will be doing a live final this year)???
In the promo for next week one of the judges is saying that one of the teams in restaurant wars did a poor job of building from the first course to the second course… interesting…
