Just announced that the second season premiere of NBC’s “World of Dance” will air on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 @ 10 PM ET. Looks like the same judging panel and host from last season. I greatly enjoyed this last summer, so hopefully this installment will be a good one too.

Last season was fun….just aggravating too since I was rooting for Eva Igo (who is back for season 2!) lol.

I am glad to see a show where they invite back the top non-winners from previous seasons.  The main problem I can see with this is, I can almost hear the comments now after the finale – either, “Eva was robbed again; the show is definitely rigged!” if she doesn’t win, or, “The show was rigged so she could win to placate her fan base who thought she should have won last year but claimed the show was rigged in favor of Les Twins” if she does.

Bringing back contestants past the semifinals round is pretty ridiculous. It virtually places them squarely in the finale conversation, and that’s unfair to new season players. I can only imagine the scandals and conspiracy theories that would have erupted if Clay had returned for season 3, for example, after his hotly contested year with Ruben. Clay had his shot, and so did Eva, regardless of how “fair” the proceedings were to some.

I think its cool that some of them from season one are back but I feel like the ones they brought back….are only there cuz they know those dancers will bring in a good chunk of viewers.

    Early renewal for season 3!

This season, the show will expand the number of young competitors—with 50 percent of contestants being under the age of 18—as well as increase the total number of dancers.

Is it bad that I totally forgot that its a Tuesday show. I still think it would kill on Fridays or Wednesdays.

I can’t help but think that we might have seen a potential finalist last night with The Latin dance/Ballroom/Salsa/whatever they had as a genre under their names duo.

Desi Hoppers were pretty cool. Didn’t think you could merge hip-hop dancing with Bollywood, but they somehow did it. I could see them going far in the competition.

Yes, first act. Qualifying score of 96, I think (higher than Les Twins’s first score of 95).

The Bradas from New Zealand were very impressive to me at least. I expected them to score a bit higher than they did. Same for Poreotics, but at least both groups made it to the Duels. This episode was Eva Igo’s return to the big dance. I’ve made my feelings known prior here that the damn runner-up from last season has no business whatsoever in returning to the competition a year later and making it almost impossible for any other contestant to develop a winner’s narrative stronger than hers. Nice routine, sure, but it felt somewhat inflated in scoring. Hard not to root for her in general as witnessed by the heavily partisan audience and judges, but still. Let’s see how these last remaining Qualifies pan out.
