Thread to share nominations we waited a long time til FINALLY! happen.

Here’s some from the top of my head:

    Molly Shannon, Will & Grace
    Leslie Jordan, Will & Grace
    Elizabeth Banks, Modern Family
    Matthew Perry, Friends
Kristin Davis, Sex and the City
    Carrie Preston, The Good Wife
Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell, The Americans

It's about the chaotic editing in Moulin Rouge!

O’Hara for Schitt’s Creek. Should have gotten in early seasons.

Matthew Perry for Friends, because, well, it’s stood up for decades.

Hargitay for SVU: Say what you will but the capacity to do that for years on end is worth a nom. I would say the same for Pompeo if they ever campaigned her.

Paulson (generally) back in the day, who I thought was  great very early career

Coster Waldau and Christie for Thrones – should have got in as supporting and guest in S3,

Cuoco (eventually) – just made me happy. I feel like she was forever overshadowed by Parsons.

(this years version is Cobie Smulders for similar reasons as Cuoco).

    This year alone.

    And…

Ok I know he only missed for one season but he was so spectacular in season 3 that it felt like he was snubbed for years and years lol.

A controversial pick: Christina Hendricks for Mad Men, because she deserved to be nominated for every season of the show.

Regina King, look at her decades worth of material.

    Brenda

    Boondocks

    Southland1

    TBBT

And that’s not even including her eternally snubbed and masterful work in The Leftovers and things I haven’t seen but hear she’s excellent in (24 and Shameless).

This is controversial? I could make a tape of a similar run count to an episode of Mad Men with Emmy worthy clips of her in season 1. I remember her being really phenomenal in a scene where she was giving Peggy advice on how to deal with Don’s “affairs”.

On a separate note she should have won at least twice as well (she may be the performer I’m most irritated about not having an Emmy).

She didn’t get nominated for The Leftovers but I’m going to pretend she got double noms like Dowd did in 2017.

I think it’s kinda controversial for this thread as she only took 3 seasons to get nominated (in a series that was elegible 8 times). She’s my personal winner in 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2015.

It’s not exactly the same, however I think Michael Kenneth Williams was kinda overdue for a nomination when he finally got it for “Bessie”.

Another few names that came to my mind: Cecily Strong, Kenan Thompson, John Mahoney (for Frasier).

Evan Peters! I haven’t seen MoE, but he has been delivering season after season on AHS for a decade now. For such an Emmy-friendly series, they slept on him work for some strange reason. He was win worthy for Murder House, Hotel and Cult.

Harry Shearer. It was a running gag around GD back then wondering when would the Emmys finally recognize his work. This was in an era when Voiceover Performance was juried, and voters handed Emmys to “The Simpsons” like candy, except for him. He finally won once the category became competitive, but oddly hasn’t been nominated again since winning in 2014. At least Shearer has one Emmy after the ridiculous amount of time it took for him to reach that milestone!
