Looking back, last year’s crop of winners seem better than this year’s (with the sole exception being Kirby). Hollander is still a very inspired pick, and Waller-Bridge, Lancashire and Happy Valley as a whole were very worthy winners.

Foy was clearly disappointed when Windsor was named Best Actress.

I don’t think she was visibly disappointed. She looked on the brink of tears with most wins tbf, she just wears her heart on her sleeve, that’s all.

Peaky Blinders is much better show than any winner from last year, so no.

    ^ lol at that statement

Anyway I just finished both seasons of This Country and wow, that finale of season 2 is genuinely tragic. This is a brilliant show and I can see it winning Comedy Series again next year. Hopefully both of the Coopers are nominated in acting as well as Ashley McGuire (the actress who plays Mandy) who seriously stole the show in whichever episodes she was in. Martin Mucklowe is also worse than Joffrey and Ramsay combined. He is scum and the worst (or should I say best) TV villain of all time.

I don’t really follow the BAFTA TV Awards, but the BAFTAS never awarding Foy for her iconic performance in The Crown is beyond pathetic. This may takes years for the BAFTA voters to live down.

Why wouldn’t she be? No one could blame her for thinking she was a lock to win after Kirby won. At least Foy has her SAG wins.

I would be disappointed, too. I think that Foy wants BAFTAs and Emmys because it’s the ultimate validiation for her work. She puts everything into her work on The Crown, and to lose for that has to be devastating.

    Is Killing Eve eligible here?

Also has it aired in the UK yet?

It’s airing later this year so, yes, it will be eligible for next year’s BAFTAs as it’s a BBC co-production.

I thought that one of the entry requirements was that the show had to have its worldwide premiere in the UK, which Killing Eve did not do.
