A thread for anyone who wants to share their predictions and thought for the Creative Arts categories (guest categories excluded).

Here’s my list for Main Title Design based on a first look at the ballot, which is why they might be more of a wishful picks.

    • Counterpart
    • GLOW
    • Godless
    • Mindhunter
    • Westworld

Other contenders: Altered CarbonThe DeuceThe Sinner.

^Top of the Lake has an amazing intro too, I think it could win.

Is Westworld really eligible? It’s not completely different.

Can’t say anything, I haven’t seen it and couldn’t find it on YouTube.

I suppose they are allowed to submit again thanks to the minor changes.

By the way, why is The Tale submited for Title Design?

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE… a googol more “pleases,” please!

For your Goldderby Film Awards consideration: Isle of Dogs for every category, especially Music Score for Alexandre Desplat!

Westworld should win in spite of the changes being minor as justice for its bizarre loss to Stranger Things in Main Title Design last year. For a first year show, Altered Carbon would be my #1 choice for that category.

    Outstanding Period Costumes

    • The Crown
    • GLOW
    • Godless
    • The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
    • Mindhunter

Contenders: The Deuce, Stranger Things, Trust, Transparent, Genius, Howards End

Could Stranger Things get in? Transparent was previously nominated for Contemporary Costumes, but now with the split categories, it might have chance to get in this one too. Genius was nominated last year, could return again.

I had it, but then saw a Gold Derby video with Mindhunter‘s costume designer and changed it. But Howards End definitely seems like a safer choice.

Outstanding Music Composition for a Series – Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones)

I don’t care about anyone else the Emmys nominate, but if this guy isn’t among them, I’ll riot. Even the Grammys have recognized the genius of his work. It’s time the Emmys do the same.

Preach! I went to his GOT concert and my God, I have no words. Give him the Emmy NOW. Mac Quayle also needs an Emmy. His work on ACS: Versace was astonishing. They also never nominated Max Richter for the Leftovers, which is a crime. This category is a mess. Also Rupert Gregson-Williams & Hans Zimmer need some awards for the Crown.

    The Americans, anyone?

Congratulations to Emmy Awards winner Matthew Rhys, Joel Fields & Joe Weisberg, Bill Hader and Henry Winkler!

    The Crown
    Howards End
    The Marvelous Mrs Maisel
    Outlander
Peaky Blinders (this one is just a feeling)

I think The Deuce deserves a nomination for Period Costumes, especially over something like Mindhunter.
