Do we know yet what episode of Black Mirror will be submitted for TV Movie? I’m really hoping it will be ‘Hang the DJ’ because I think it’s the best episode of the season, but I can see ‘USS Callister’ being submitted.

Do you really think AHS will appear this much? I personally liked this season a lot but the show kinda seems to be past its peak. At the very least Evan finally deserves a nom.

I have ACS & Godless for 2 noms each for Directing, and for Writing I’m not sure about a 6th one yet.

The biggest lock in the directing race is definitely Campion. While her show had a bad season and she may be the only nomination for the show besides Moss, she has the biggest name in the lineup.

I would argue that David Lynch and Steven Soderbergh are bigger names and among the Television Academy, Ryan Murphy might be too.  How about Barry Levinson?

And yet I would say that Campion is the bigger name. At least we know that she is the name that stands out among a group of middle aged men.

Ryan Murphy might be too. How about Barry Levinson?

Levinson won Best Director for Rain Man, a bigger cultural touchstone than The Piano, for which Campion won Best Original Screenplay. Levinson has also been nominated for another four films, compared to zero for Campion. It is the same story with their track records at the Emmys.

And yet people remember Campion more. They might not remember her film, but Levinson is definitely not the bigger name.

Godless has only one director, so it can’t submit 2 episodes. It will submit the whole series.

Lynch is probably near a lock for a nomination. IMO the sheer directorial scope (18 hours, years to make, auteur doing the whole thing on his own, etc.) makes him a strong favorite to win.

The Emmys are friendly towards female directors, so Jennifer Fox could get nominated too for THE TALE.

as you can tell I really didn’t dive into these 2 categories, but I feel like anyone from both tv movie and miniseries categories nominees can get in
