    Early choices for Animated Program:
Rick & Morty (please submit The Ricklantis Mixup…)
Bob’s Burgers (probably the Christmas special)
    South Park
    Bojack Horseman (finally)
and a wildcard: Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie (probably more for the politics involved in getting this made after 15 years or so, although there was a scene or two that could score an Individual Achievement Emmy)

A 40 seconds trailer is seldom a good indicator of the quality of a show, though it is true that Ball hasn’t been a good writer for quite some time now.

That is why I specifically said from that trailer. It could be the best new show of 2018 but it doesn’t change the fact that the trailer was bad.

That looks about right, but I am not sure if Rick and Morty would be up their alley. So replace that with The Simpsons and I think it would be perfect.

Given the Emmy’s track record in Animation,Ricky &Morty won’t start getting nominated until about s6-7 when it’s buzz and acclaim are long gone.

Given the Big Little Lies official renewal and PGA moving it to Drama, it’s likely to have it at the Emmys 2019 in the Drama Series category. I have mixed feeling about this, because they would be filling spots over other deserving nominees.

They are also very deserving nominees so I don’t see how this is a problem. Three of the possible nominees of next year won’t be back for 2019 Emmys anyway.

If the show submits “The Ricklantis Mixup,” I think it has a shot. Nothing so far from The Simpsons or Family Guy stands out. Besides – if R&M isn’t the animation branch’s “cup of tea,” then I doubt Bojack Horseman is in either, especially if there’s another season of Archer.

I doubt he could get in directing, with Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, The Crown, The Handmaid’s Tale and Westworld in the game. Maybe in Lead Actor if the competition is low which in fact is.

EDIT: I thought you were talking about him also directing some eps of Ozark. I totally forgot about AD.

Ozark is surprisingly doing well. I didn’t like the show, but Julian Garner was easily the MVP for me, and I know a lot of people agree. Will Linney for sure go lead? Because she could honestly go supporting. Im hoping that if the show does become a thing they’d at least nominate Garner.
