If they are not going to present any other categories in which movies or competition programs are nominated, they should really ship those main races to the Creative Arts for cohesion.

I hope they show clips of all the nominees like they did last year. That was a great addition to the ceremony. I just hope presenters get the winners names right this year. I’m still not over the mispronunciation of Rachel Brosnahan and Merritt Wever.

I get my name mispronounced all the time but seriously if that happened on an Emmy stage or clip I would be so pissed.

Yeah, that’s a dick move. If you know that you are presenting a category, at least be prepared enough to get the names right. It’s about them, not about you.

I always think of when Howie Mandel pronounced Rue McClanahan’s name as Rue McCallahan. It was the year she won. She laughed it off, but I’m sure she was slightly peeved. I know I would be.

Oh, I know. The funny thing was that The Golden Girls writers ripped into Howie Mandel the following season. Rose made a dumb joke and Dorothy says, “It’s like living in a home with a bunch of Howie Mandel’s”. Savagery at its finest.

Usually presenters in award shows rehearse the nominees’ names when they’re recording for the clips.

However last year’s clips didn’t include the presenter’s voice announcing the nominee. That resulted the mispronunciation when revealing the winner.

If Emmy producers are reading this, rehearse the presenters for 2 minutes and they’ll learn the pronuncing!!

Clips of the nominees before the introduction of the presenters was weird last year.

Clips are a must in my opinion. And if it were up to me, they’d even have very short clips for writers and directors – maybe highlighting a great moment in their submitted episodes. It’s artists’ specific achievement being celebrated that evening, and there should be a way to highlight their talent for those in the audience who haven’t seen a particular show, season or episode yet. I thought how they handled it last year was quite good, as everyone got a short clip and no one was excluded. Not sure how I felt about the clips being shown before the presenters came out – it kind of diminished the impact of the clips – but at least they were mostly well chosen. Now with no host/hosts, there is no excuse not to provide viewers with clips. And for the love of God, please choose ones that make the actors look good (performance-wise of course).

Oscar FYC - Lupita Nyong'o & Elisabeth Moss ("Us") - Best Actress & Supporting Actress. It must happen; otherwise the Tethered are coming.

By far, the best clip last year was for the Twin Peaks writing. I was floored.
