Oh, I know. The funny thing was that The Golden Girls writers ripped into Howie Mandel the following season. Rose made a dumb joke and Dorothy says, “It’s like living in a home with a bunch of Howie Mandel’s”. Savagery at its finest.

Marc Cherry has a story where Rue, fellow showrunner Jamie and he went to a democratic fundraiser for Bill Clinton. Each table had at least one celebrity seated at it, and Marc or Jamie made a joke about seeing if they could trade up. Meaning let’s switch out Rue for a bigger star. She immediately clapped back saying something about “well just for saying that, I hope you get stuck with Howie Mandel.”

Not only will Fox have a one-hour Red Carpet show starting at 7:00 Eastern, but there will be a “Red Carpet Pre-Show” starting at 6:30.

However, a number of cities will get the pre-show “joined in progress” because of NFL coverage. Based on the schedule, the preliminary list of cities that won’t get the whole pre-show are:

    Pretty much definitely:
    Charlotte
    New York
    Phoenix
    Tampa

Probably (these cities’ teams have a 1:00 game on CBS; presumably, Fox will not air the one game it gets in each city that week against it):
    Atlanta
    Baltimore
    Boston
    Buffalo
    Cincinnati
    Indianapolis
    Kansas City

“What about Los Angeles?” The Chargers have a 1:00 game on Fox, and the Rams are on Sunday Night Football.

I really hope they don’t slight with clips for the performers…

I like to see a brief clip followed by the nominee’s reaction in the audience.

Agreed. I liked that they had clips for all the nominees last year, but they were way too short. I’ll still never understand why in the past they would only have clips for just one category. Anyone else know why they did that?

To save time. But hopefully seeing there is no host this year there will be some time to actually appreciate the work of the nominees.

Queen Viola & all GOT nominees presenting? Yes.

Emmy voters must bend the knee to Lena Headey & Emilia Clarke for "Game of Thrones." It's their last chance to award them. Make it happen.

Viola Davis giving an Emmy to Billy Porter would be amazing.

I believe the Chargers game is on CBS and the Rams are on Sunday Night Football, which is NBC.

Billy Porter should host! But I’ll accept him as a presenter.
