Based on IMDB votes, Barry is indeed the least popular along with Schitt’s Creek:
1. 68 000 – The Good Place
2. 49 000 – Maisel
3. 47 000 – Russian Doll
4. 42 000 – Atlanta
5. 39 000 – Veep
6. 36 000 – Fleabag
7. 29 000 – Barry
8. 20 000 – Schitt’s CreekClearly, Russian Doll is the most comercial one since has achieved many votes in a very small amount of time, Fleabag is going very well too, it is going to go up until 50 000 votes at least.
However, the viewership of those comedies is nothing in comparison to Modern Family (318 000), Glee (129 000), The Big Bang Theory (665 000) or How I met Your Mother (553 000), do you think that some of them can be this popular at some time? Are we ever going to have another hit like this four?

This is really interesting, didn’t realise Russian Doll had that many votes.
Looking at the average episode votes for the eligible emmy season (episode with most votes in parentheses), it looks a little different:
1. 1 671 – Barry (4 376 – ronny/lily)
2. 1 401 – Russian Doll (1 752 – Nothing in This World Is Easy)
3. 1 255 – Fleabag (1 669 – Episode 2.1)
4. 1 128 – The Good Place (1 563 – Janet(s))
5. 929 – Maisel (1 109 – Midnight at the Concord)
6. 580 – Veep (1 160 – Veep)
7. 159 – Schitt’s Creek (255 – Meet the Parents)Not really sure what this means, but I found it interesting.

Silicon Valley has 106 800 votes, so I think it’s possible.
October 2, 2019 at 10:11 am #1203117683Fleabag is definitely one of the greatest comedies I’ve ever seen, and should go down in the annals of television history as an all-timer. I wonder if the relative brevity of its run could hurt its case (it shouldn’t, IMO).

The Good Place could reach around 100k votes, don’t see it going any higher though. Dead to Me has 27k+ with just 1 season (and in less than 5 months) in a few seasons it could reach 100k+ votes. But really, I can’t see something like Modern Family or TBBT happening in the near future.

“Only” 12 episodes didn’t hurt Fawlty Towers in that regard.
The Prisoner only had, what, 18 (although it wasn’t a comedy)?
If you count the four Blackadder seasons as a single series, that’s still only 24.

I said this year. Janet(s) aired in 2018. Even if it had aired this year, there would still be no competition between it and ronny/lily.

Waw, very interesting data, I think that it means what we already knew, the people that cares a lot about good quality shows is watching Barry.
I do not see Silicon Valley going higher than this though.

Very different times…. And none of this three is very popular today, I had never heard about any of those and after my research I saw that only Fawlty Towers is somehow popular nowadays.

We are not talking about fan support, but about general popularity, and there IMDB is by far the best source.
