Why are you guys so delusional?
The Good Place is not the best comedy on TV today. So a nomination is more than enough.
Better Things’ third season is universally acclaimed, a 94 score on Metacritic. If YOUR MOTHER says the show is not good, well it is not an indicator.June 16, 2019 at 12:59 pm #1202940671
I think some people are very harsh on The Good Place because of Guest 2018’s behaviour. It’s a very well-written show and it is deserving of a series nom. Carden’s performances is outstanding (certainly better than the SNL actresses). Danson and Rudolf are also great. Kristen Bell and the directing are serviceable but aren’t particularly worthy of acclaim.
Pretty much. I loved TGP when I started watching it on Netflix last year, but coming onto here, his constant dragging of other shows in favor of Kristen Bell has conflated and dampened my feelings for the show.June 16, 2019 at 1:05 pm #1202940681
5 critics reviewed it. It’s not comparable to Fleabag or Better Things, which have 20 reviews and are still holding up.
Formerly Ospencer. I'm still a huge fan of Octavia but my old username felt too specific.June 16, 2019 at 3:39 pm #1202940743
Cate Blanchett should win guest actress in a comedy series. She’s fantastic.June 16, 2019 at 3:42 pm #1202940750
Borstein would be an expected choice to repeat, and it would be really deserved because she’s AWESOME, but it just doesn’t seem like the kind of undeniable performance that can win twice in a row. SNL ladies will probably split votes, Hinkle doesn’t have the material, Carden will be lucky just to get nominated, Goldberg kinda lives in her male costars’ shadows, and everyone else is probably a non-factor except Chlumsky.
Hinkle actually has a lot to chew on in Season 2. A lot of it is subtle, though, but she has the material.June 16, 2019 at 3:44 pm #1202940754

Agreed but I don’t see anyone voting for her instead of Borstein (although I would).

critics may or may not matter depending, and I don’t even particularly love Good Place now, but it definitely is quite acclaimed. Based on MC’s aggregate of year-end T10 lists:
2017 #5 Good Place
#22 Marvelous Mrs Maisel
2018 #4 Good Place
#14 Marvelous Mrs MaiselJune 16, 2019 at 7:46 pm #1202940899
I think TGP is a wonderful show & deserves noms for Series, Carden, and Danson, though I am not super confident on Carden. Bell does a good job but I would be shocked if she were nominated.June 17, 2019 at 2:19 am #1202941165
Does Keeping up with the Kardashians submit themselves? I randomly happened to watch an episode. They should really consider comedy, cause that show is faker than Kim’s ass and scripted af. It’s really laughable. I laugh at their pretentiousness and their unrelatability (if that’s a word). It really requires some effort to pretend in front of the camera all the time considering ur not a professional actor, so I’ll be rooting for them in the supporting acting categories since it’s an ensemble.June 17, 2019 at 5:18 am #1202941318
It doesn’t matter if 500 critics review it or 5, last time I checked, 96>94.
Of course it matters, it’s way easier to have a high score with minimal reviews.
Anyway, I have added TGP to my prediction a few days ago, I think the final season announcement will help it.June 19, 2019 at 2:44 am #1202943878
The more Natasha Lyonne interviews I watch the more I think she played herself in Russian Doll. I think unless either Tomlin or Janney or both say goodbye, she might be snubbed for Alison Brie, I just have this gut feeling the latter might get that long-wanted nomination this year.June 19, 2019 at 3:59 am #1202943899
Currently not predicting him but Marc Maron is way too low in our odds.
