The viral clip is too little, too late for Leslie Jones if you ask me.

This and her Gayle King sketch puts her back in the conversation.

    Nah, Riverdale is still winning.

Ugh I was convinced Leslie Jones was getting dropped, but this viral Handmaid’s Tale/Abortion monologue might just be enough to get her back in. It happening so close to the voting period doesn’t hurt either.

The last two years, the Emmys have nominated 3 SNL women in supporting. I think this trend could continue, but this year with Strong over Bryant (who did not have a strong season).

Barry won’t win directing. This award belongs to “Welcome to the Catskills” from The Marvelous Mrs Maisel .

FYC: Octavia Spencer (Luce) - Best Supporting Actress

It has also now settled on a metascore of 95.

In response to Fleabag launching this weekend on Amazon, I would honestly nominate and award Phoebe for actress, writing, Andrew Scott for supporting actor, Olivia for Supporting Actress, and then the whole show for Comedy Series. Best show I’ve seen this year.

A lot of people in the industry seem to agree with you. The dude from The Big Sick said it’s the best show hes ever seen lol. Nancy Meyers posted a love note to Phoebe on her instagram.

I am predicting it now for nominations everywhere.

It did up until episode 5. It could really go either way now.

I have seen too much Twitter buzz from industry types in recent years for Catastrophe, Fleabag and The Leftovers to consider a Fleabag breakout now with Barry, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Veep so rock solid at the top.

Oh, we are considering it for the series category now? We have very different views of this situation then.

Couldn’t you say the same thing for The Americans and Friday Night Lights their early seasons?

It takes a while in this crowded TV landscape for shows to break through. Some do it fast. Others take some time and get in there when others stay past their welcome.

I cannot imagine there is much passion in that Academy for Kimmy Schmidt or Blackish to get top nominations. And something like The Good Place is at the same place in it’s run as a Fleabag. That’s not to mention many shows that are clearly not being watched or are truly loved by the Academy- Mom, Grace and Frankie, Better Things, Insecure.

I guess I’m just hoping talent wins out because in this race with so many potential filler nominations, Fleabag deserves to breakthrough with top nominations. Not just the obligatory Oscar winner name check in supporting
